Has anyone ever heard of rh? Where the blood type of you and the baby don't mesh because your blood type and the fathers blood type don't mesh? My mother thinks I may have it, because I've been overly tired and as she describes it listless. Has any one ever had this?? And what to expect?? I'm getting it tomorrow morning or afternoon

Ended up not getting blood work :/ the place I went doesn't do these types of things \: they do environmental testing and std testing, nothing to do with mom and baby, they gave me a list of things to call and see but so.far I don't have much faith in it, but a plus I was able to add Derrick on to my case :)

Oh thank you lady's!! I'm kinda nervous for it, because my mom and her friend said that if the blood types aren't meshing right that I could loose it or something go wrong :( and I already love this little one :( and I'm 13 weeks today

You don't have to bring him with you if you are rH negative they will do the shots regardless to be safe

They will never take your word for it with your Hubby's blood type (or yours) when I got my first blood work done they tested me to see if I was developing any antibodies, I believe it's routine. My husbands friend actually had to have his own blood typed when he went with his wife.

We don't know what Derrick's blood type is :/ apparently no one in his family knows, and the only one that ever knew passed away before we got together :/ so it looks like I might need that shot :(

If your A positive then you won't need the shots or anything since your blood type never changes! People with Rh negative is born with it!

And dads don't need blood work but if they know for sure they have the same blood type as the mother then the shot isn't needed because baby will for sure have that blood type! But if dad doesn't know then they give mom the shot to be sure so nothing goes wrong with baby!

Well if your a+ u don't need to worry. Never heard ofthe father needing a blood test unless it was for paternity.  If u were A- then you would need the rhogam shot.

I'll be getting blood work done tomorrow, and my blood type is A+ and Derrick doesn't know what he is... I just got an appointment with a Dr near me because my insurance has been wacky and I couldn't find one that would take what I had :/ but I finally found one!! I'm so happy!! I'll have my first appointment with the new one on the 20th at 1:30 and they suggested I go to the dept of health or whatever it's called and get blood work done since we don't know

I have it and it's not dangerous during your first pregnancy but you will need a shot at 28 weeks for it called the rhogram shot!

It's usually more dangerous in the second pregnancy but your blood and babies blood coming into contact isn't that common and it doesn't have any symptoms at all it's only found from blood work when you go to the dr!

If the dad has rh negative blood also then you won't need the shot! You have to have the shot when it's a possibility baby could have positive blood type from the dad!

Everyone is either rh- or rh+. When a rh- mother & rh+ baby blood mesh.... if that was your case your ob wouldve told u after a blood test and taken precaution. If your tired or feel drained,  its apart of pregnancy,  or your iron levels may be low.  What are you getting tommorow?

That would be RH negative. I'm A negative and got the rhogam needle last week, they usually do it in your hip on the backside. They'll do another one after birth.
