Thanks for that advice. He was having a hard time breathing when I put him to bed, so hubby ran out and got vicks. Hopefully it will help! :)
One thing someone suggested that worked w/ BOTH of my boys is to put sum Vicks Vapor Rub on his feet. I know that sounds crazy...but it helped them breathe and it really helped soothed any coughing they had. I also put a tiny, tiny bit under their nose. I use the adult strength on their feet. But Vicks does make a vapor rub for infants. It jus called Vicks Baby Rub. Good Luck!!
Thanks! I am strictly breastfeeding him, so he has never had anything else, except apple juice one time, to help him have a BM. He is wanting to nurse more, so I am keeping him hydrated I suppose. I will try the warm wash cloth on his chest. I know I usually put it on his belly when he is constipated or has gas and wow does it break it up fast! So I will definitely try that. As for immunizations, he hasn't had any yet. He is suppose to get one next week. It's the one for whooping cough, but that's it. So I wonder if the rash was just cold related or dryer sheets...I mean it's not a bad rash, just some tiny raised bumps, not red or anything either. I remember when my siblings had a rash once, they were tiny red, raised bumps everywhere, but mostly on their backs. My mom said it was a heat rash...hmmm! If it gets worse, I am going to call the doc on call.
Poor baby! I wish I could take his cold away from him! =(
Ocean Spray nose spray for kids is a miracle. It is 100% safe and natural, all it is is saline. You can even use it on infants. Lots of clear fluids to help break up the chest congestion aswell, maybe even a warm wash cloth on his chest.
My kids are very sensitive to laundry detergants and softners, so thats a possability. Has he had any immunizations lately? If so Id call his doc or ped. Could be a reaction.
Aveeno Baby lotion non scented works VERY well for dry skin, I use it on myself and my children, I get the scent free one, and it hydrates for 24 hrs.
Hope he feels better soon!
maybe some honey on a spoon and a squirt of lemon can help. and you may want to sweat the cold out. try to go in the bathroom and run the shower hot and you guys just go in for a little bit ans come out . push a lot of fluids like pedialtye. apple juice ( clear fluids). water. try to make him comfortable. rock him rub his back sing to him. for the rash i don't know maybe ask a pharmacist. hope i helped.
