I'm high risk and have only had 2. Once at 8 weeks and one at 20 that was more detailed. I asked the doctor if I will have more and she said no. Not unless she feels there is a problem.

I have United Healthcare and theu covered 3, unless there was a valid reason for me to have another.

Im also a FTM And my insurance is threw kaiser and im fully covered for everything. If u are worried then u just ask the doctor if they can check.  I have miscarried and lost another baby prior so I am always paranoid and my doctor is understanding. My sister had anthem blue cross with her kids and they wouldn't do ultrasounds for her if she requested because her insurance only covers so much. So just ask cant hurt :)

Just because you request an ultrasound,  doesn't mean you'll get one. I've requested plenty and haven't had anymore. Your best bet is to go to a 3d/4d imaging place and pay to see your little one.

I think it may depend on your insurance also though.
