Scary Morning, turned Happy

So today I had my first appointment!  This morning while getting up and getting ready to go to my appointment (prepared to beg for ultrasound) I went to the bathroom and had pink blood when I wiped, so of course I started to freak out!!  I went to the appointment and told them right away while I was checking in, and the nurse practioner that saw me was awsome.  She begged for me and got me an ultrasound right then and there, and you know what everything is okay.  I got to see the baby moving and the got to watch it's heartbeat!  It was the best feeling in the world!  The baby has a heart rate of 174, even the ultrasound tech said that was a very strong heartbeat!  The baby measures at 8 weeks and 5 days, so I was correct and actually the baby is one day ahead of my own calculations!  What a great feeling today.  I did go to work, but started having a small amount of the same kind of spotting as I did this morning, but I'm guessing it's because I was messed with down there all morning and because this is when I would be due for AF to come again.  I'm not freaking out because it's gone again and I am resting today, don't care about work being short, that is too bad!  So I couldn't be happier!  I'm sure everything is fine and just so happy to see the heartbeat!!!!!!

Just wanted to share with everyone!  I do have pics, but I don't have a way yet to scan them on the computer!  I'm gonna work on that though maybe on Friday so I can get them posted, but I got some great looking pics!!

Well, let me tell you they took 7 vials of blood today, so maybe they will check that.  I haven't had anymore of anything since about 3pm - so I think I'm just fine.  I am not sure, but I may just take off tomorrow to be safe - I have a feeling work is going to be mean to me about it, but I have to think of my baby first.

Trust me, if I start again, I will be calling them again and seeing what they want me to do.

Another question- have they checked your progesterone levels? It might be a good idea because low progesterone can cause bleeding. Progesterone is necessary to keep the uterine lining thick.

Resting and putting your legs up is a great idea and I'm glad to hear it's going away! Some women bleed heavy and their little ones are just fine!

No, no sex for us, and I'm not sure why I had the bleeding before the appointment, but I was reading in my pregnancy books and discovered that you still have hormonal changes when you would normally expect your next period which could bring on some light bleeding.  Since I have been home, I've been resting and laying on the couch and I haven't noticed any bleeding at all.  I think I'm fine, I don't think my cervix liked the being messed with much and that is why I bled after the exam, but I think it would have been time for AF to come to town, and that is why I had the light bleeding yesterday.

So wonderful! That is a good, strong heartbeat, too! Sometimes there is bleeding in pregnancy that is just unexplained. If you had a pelvix exam or vaginal ultrasound you can definitely expect some bleeding. Perhaps you have a sensitive cervix? Did you guys have sex within the last 2 days?

Congrats! i'm glad everything turned out well!!! I had my first appointment too today, but they estimated me at 5 weeks only, and we saw a sack but it was too small to see anything in it so I go back in 2 weeks. :)
