Sickle cell
Ok so i am 8 weeks and i just recently had bloodwork done. The doctor called and said she looked at my blood and i need to get tested for sickle cell anemia. If i had that wouldnt i know? Has anyone gone through this? Im terrofied somethings wrong with me!
That makes me feel alot better. Nobody in my family has the trait so i was confused as to how i would have gotten it.
i got tested and came back negative , also they tested becuz it runs in my hubby family ..
if you had the full disease you would have known since you where a child. I have the trait and I've known since I was little but probably testing you to see the chances of your baby having it
More than likely they are testing to see if you have the sickle cell trait. You definitely would have known if you had the actual disease.
