Is it bad that I smoked 2 ciggs today, I quit a few months ago but tonight I needed to calm myself down. I'm due on less than a month, did I hurt my daughter? I'm so upset with myself.

Good job for quitting! Yes of course its bad for the baby and I used to smoke too before I found out I was pregnant and I quit but I do slip up every once in a while normally if I do smoke I only smoke a few hits then put it out. We know how hard it is to quit and especially with stress and especially if your used to smoking 4 or 5 a day. Just think yes you messed up but its way better than smoking your whole pregnancy. We are only human. Just try to not do it anymore, your so close to your due date! You can do it :)

People who smoke cigs make the choice to mess up their health! At least while pregnant make a healthy one for your unborn baby cause obviously they can't tell you no

I did with my first daughter but only a few a day and some days none, she was 8pound9oz and healthy.. I guess everyone is different.  it doesn't go straight to the baby but obviously isn't good... I think it's ok once or twice if your too stressed/sad/anxious ...

Obviously I know the risks, which is why I quit in the first place.

Everyone's different. Some smoke through whole pregnancy and nothing happens. Some smoke few cigarettes and baby has health problems. You never know. Fact is - cigarettes are very unhealthy. Then again - stress is too. You quit - that is a lot. And that is something not everyone is capable of doing. Feel proud about it. These 2 cigarettes - you did what you did, there's no turning back - use this feeling of guilt, to prevent next time from happening. But do not stress too much and be calm - that hurts your baby more. Just calmly promise yourself not to do that anymore. If you could quit, you are able to say no to cigarettes in future. Best of luck!

Thank you for not ridiculing me. I am not going to smoke again, as great as it felt, I now feel terrible for my daughter.

Go watch misbehaving mom's on YouTube. It explains what happens to a baby every time a mom smokes. It's like squeezing the umbilical chord and start going the baby. It was a moment of weakness, but I would try my very best not to let it happen again. Cigarettes are very bad for babies. My mom smoked a few during her pregnancy and it was born with breathing issues. Best of luck to you xx
