I was slightly less disciplined than the ladys above - smoked 30 pd when i found out, and gut instinct (and nausua) brought that down to 6 within a week
I discussed with my dr and we planned to cut down across 1month, so by the end of that month 1 was down to 2 pd
By that point, i had seen my baby and wanted to stop more than anything but didnt want to stress myself or him so i began to only share 1 with my partner.. this way of i wasnt with him i didnt smoke at all (ie work) which really helped me kick wanting it when i was stressed :)
29 weeks and ive been compleatly smoke free for 2months..
Still get the cravings, when you begin to see and feel baby, you realise its stupid to risk their health for something ultimatly pointless
Oh, and i recomend you invest in a lot of mints/gum :)
I literally used the power of will to quit I smoked for about 7 years and then I found out I was pregnant. I put it as every time I wanted one I was intentionally poisoning my baby if I smoked. It got me to stop, there are so many health risks by exposing your baby to cigarettes during pregnancy and after. A lot of people smoke around me but as long as they are around me they know to go smoke outside.
Just stop. Same way you stop drinking alcohol when you are pregnant... Because you know it can have life long health consequences for your baby and you love that little bean so much you would do anything for them. Just stop.
I never smoked but I'm a firm believer in complete willpower. If you wanna stop its only you holding you back. If people smoke that you are around all the time tell them you won't allow them around you smoking. Period.
It's for the baby. &When the baby is here;;still keep up with not smoking because in my opinion it's selfish of the parent taking time away their kids could have with them. Because everything in cigs are detrimental to your health.
I smoked for 15 years and just gave up when I found out I was pregnant I just didn't buy anymore it's all about will power and self control
I was a smoker too. It's really hard and the only thing that has helped me quit is I now have a bad habit of eatting mints. You just really gotta find what works for for though because I tryed all the stuff people told me and it just made me stressed even more because I wanted a cig. I haven't smoked I'm 9 months and I still crave smoking. It's really hard to stop
