So I'm kinda freaking out.

I am O-negative blood type and my Husband is O positive. I'll be getting the RH shot on Monday. Has anyone else experienced this? I heard mixing the two different bloods is very dangerous for the baby?

Your baby should be just fine, just make sure that you receive that shot called Rhogam! When I was 5 weeks along the first time I was pregnant, I honestly had no clue of my blood type until I had miscarried. I went in to the ER and they gave me the Rhogam shot, which I hadn't heard of prior to that experience. They said that the shot would benefit me next time I get pregnant, and it has! I will be 17 weeks on Saturday and I will receive my next Rhogam shot at around 27 weeks. I hear they also give you one in l&d (labor & delivery) to prevent any mixing of the blood then too. I am A-Negative Blood Type in the RH Negative Group. My husband is positive blood type, but we aren't entirely sure if its A, B, so on and so forth. Anyways, good luck and congratulations!

I am neg and my boyf is poss and I have to have the shot, and then if baby is poss when they are born you have to have it again it's to stop antibodies so if you jave a bleed or a bump to the tum you must ring mw or hosp as you may need another shot even I'd you just had it :)

They give you the shot because of your blood type. I'm O- and got it with my daughter. I haven't gotten it this time yet. But will have too. Its nothing to be worried about. Its safer to get the shot than to not get it.

It's only dangerous to the baby if you don't get the shot. The shot makes it fine for you and baby.

I had the shot a couple weeks ago the shot is for the next pregnancy not necessarily your current one because your body wont produce enough antibodies to cause any harm this currently but if you get pregnant again you will produce antibodies thag will start attacking the babys blood and make you sick while delivery  but it will not cause any problems for this pregnancy ... the shot stings and burns alot and my arm was sore for 3 days

Yep I had at 6 weeks ..as I was in er due to heavy spotting .its safe to take the shot
Else d chances of ur body treating ur baby as foreign invadaor and the defense mechanism of d body wud b activated whc cud lead to possible abortion.
I did hav spotting evn after the shot almost up till 13 weeks but later I am fine .I'll b getting next at 28 weeks one MRE shot.

Yea that's why you receive the rh shot. Because your babies blood could have the rh antigen to where yours does not, making it dangerous for the two to mix
