So nervous...please help. Preggo after miscarriage.

Im just wondering if anyone has been through a similar experiance?! I recently had a miscarriage in early October of 2008, and it resulted in needing a d and c. The baby had stopped growing and had no heartbeat at 12 weeks, but I was supposed to be at 14.5 weeks. My husband and I were saddened, but optomistic. Our ob told us to wait one cycle and it would be safe to try again. We waited a cycle, and I had a very normal period, Come to find we got pregnant right after! WE ARE NOW AT 6.5 WEEKS! We are excited, but also very nervous, so far they took my blood for my hgc levels, and so far so good. Im just very scared about the first ultrasound which isnt even until Jan 16! Thats still 2 weeks away. My pregnancy symptoms are very light, but I'm thankful theyre there at all. Has anyone been through something similar and gone on to deliver a healthy baby? Or known anyone to? Very nervous over here!!! Open to ANY and ALL advice!

Hi!
There are SO MANY people who have been through what you are going through!  I suspect that you can tell from the numbers of responses you have already generated!
I think mostly what you need is moral support from the community which you are already receiving, but here are some things I will often do for my patients with similar stories:
I will often check a progesterone level to be sure it is normal, and if it is borderline or low, I will definitely supplement.

I also wonder if you told your doctor how anxious you are if he/she could get you in for a transvaginal scan a little sooner.  In my office we are lucky enough to have our own ultrasound, and we can ( and often do ) freebies for our nervous patients just to check for the heartbeat. You should be able to see it already!

By the way--congratulations and count your blessings to be pregnant again so soon!

Best!

My first pregnancy ended in mc, also a D&C, then a  few months later I got pregnant again, had a healthy baby boy, got pregnant again 18 months later had another baby boy. We decided we wanted one more so I got pregnant in Sept 07 but mc in December .  The good news we are pregnant again and I am due in April.. Just hang in there, I know it is stressful but it wil all work out.. At least you know you can get pregnant, some women don't even know how that feels..( that's what I would tell myself) Just enjoy the pregnancy and tell your hubby you need a lot of TLC, and are not allowed to do any housework :)   good luck and just pray about it, it really helps get you through the tough times.

I went through that as well but went on to have a healthy baby girl 2 months ago. Although it was very scary I worried my entire pregnancy, I now wish I hadn't I missed out on a wonderful 9 months. My only advice would be to sit back relax and enjoy your journey through pregnancy, it is a wonderful time.

Hi i'm new here and just wanted to know if you ladies know whats going on with my body... I had a d&c on Dec 23 2008 and got af on Jan 25 2009. I recently started getting this weird feeling in my stomach. i'm alittle gasy and feel sick like nauseous on and off for the past few days now. My fiancee and i have had sex and are not using anything. were not trying but if it happens it happens, let nature take its course... Now I'm wondering if I might be pregnant or if this is something else someone feels after a MC?

THANK YOU.. LISA

I just had my Dr appointment  1/15. Since I never had the chance for an AF after my miscarriage she was concerned how far along I actually was. The Dr gave me 2 sonograms.  With the first one she found the gestational sack and it measured 9 weeks but she was concerned that if it measured that much she would have been able to see the baby... and she didn't. Plus I didn't think I would be that far either... it just didn't sound right.  She did a vaginal ultrasound next. She started measuring the sack and saw the baby.  I was so happy because I was already worrying after that first sono. Before she said anything I saw the heartbeat. OMG I wanted to cry. I've been so afraid to get too excited and with that little flicker of red and blue...  sitting here typing this I am tearing up.  My baby has a heartbeat!

We after the measurements they thought I was 6 weeks 5 days..   I thought I was 7 weeks so that sounded about right. One thing I do wonder about is that all the pictures I see on BabyCenter and other places show the gestational sack being more proportioned.  Mine on the sonogram looked a lot more spacious.  Does anyone  know anything about this?

I finally got my 2nd AF this past Sunday so I'm just waiting until I ovulate so we can start ttc again. I'm really nervous about being pregnant again, because I know I'll be very paranoid for the first trimester. My Dr already said that as soon as I find out i'm pregnant again she will do bloodwork and an ultrasound around 6/12 weeks along to see the heartbeat. I heard you are extra fertile after a m/c. For how long/how many cycles after a m/c are you considered "very fertile"? This is my 2nd AF after the m/c.

Hello, I had a m/c in November with a d&C and after my first cycle I am now pregnant. 4w4d. I am very scared and I feel very confused about this pregnancy. I originally did dollarama (cheapy) HPTs and got BFN. Then I did 2 clearblue hpt and got BFP in both and then I did a digital First Response and got another BFP.
I had some cramping yesterday, but no bleeding and it felt different than AF cramping. My boobs are not sore like last time. If I push on them they are tender, but nothing at all like last time. I have been worried all day, so I did another dollarama hpt and got a BFN again. I don't know what to think. I know it was stupid of me to piac again today b/c it only made me upset.
I also went to get my blood taken today to get a baseline and I'll get it done again on Thursday.
What do you think of my predicament?

I had 1 m/c this past november and already had 1st AF, just waiting for 2nd AF at the end of Jan to ttc again. You mentioned that you took progesterone for the pregnancy. Is this something I should mention to my Dr about, or is progesterone normally reserved for women with known low progesterone and/or history of multiple miscarriages? I know I will be so paranoid that first trimester once I do become pregnant again.

My first two pregnancies ended in miscarriage this past summer.  While working with our RE for some testing to see why, we became pregnant again.   My mother in law is an OBGYN and suggested I ask for progesterone suppositories - which I did - 2x per day - up to week 14 (though they told me I could stop at 12).  Many women start these prior to being fertile, but my MIL said that I could probably also start as soon as I found out I was pregnant and it would be effective.  Needless to say, I knew I was pregnant at about 2 weeks LMP.   Apparently there is no scientific evidence that this works (or doesn't work) and you can't get a sraight answer from anyone (even an in law) on their opinion as to whether or not you should take it.  We are glad we decided to take it as it felt like we were doing something to keep the baby and I would do it again in our next pregnancy(ies).   I was diagnosed with Gest Diabetes early on (as earlier pregnancies showed a high result with my glucose tolerance test) and have been treated with insulin.  Since the RE never finished the testing (we were 90% done and everything looked good so far - only one last test) - we are not sure if it was simply bad luck the first 2 times or if the progesterone and/or insulin had something to do with it.  We are now 19 weeks pregnant with a little girl and everything is progressing very nicely.   Just waiting to hear her kick (we get ultrasounds every 3 weeks and she moves around like crazy, I just can't feel her - that will be re-assuring as we still fear a miscarriage a little bit).

I miscarried on Nov 9 naturally. I was supposed to be 8w3d but measured 7w6d. I stopped spotting mid Dec when my hcg was down to 87. Then a little over 2 weeks later I spotted again dark brown for exactly 1 week with cramping. I'm hoping this was my first AF after the m/c. Would that have been too soon for my first AF after the m/c? I just went yesterday to have my hcg levels drawn to see if they are back down to normal, so I know when to ttc again. My doc told me 2 cycles, but we want to try after the first, but I'm afraid to. Sounds like others have had successful pregnancies after waiting 1 cycle. Any advice, thoughts, etc would be appreciated.
PS- Congrats to those of you who are pregnant again!! Good luck and best wishes!

I am also in the exact same position as you. My first pregnancy ended at about 7 weeks and we waited till my first cycle and I am pregnant again. I'm 6weeks2days and my first sonogram is Monday. I just try to be opptimistic. Last time I never felt sick and barely had symptoms, this time I'm kinda sick to my stomach all day, and have no appetite. I'm hoping those are good signs. Just remember God never makes a mistake, and put all your faith in him! I know plenty of women that have a miscarriage, get pregnant right away and have healthy babies :)

My hpt didn't show up as positive until I was more than a week late...  the line was very faint.

.  I have 2 boys... 6yrs and 10yrs old.  I didn't have any problems with them but this pregnancy was different.  I started spotting Monday morning and then nothing..  went to the Dr that morning and they said I was still preg. They gave me a blood test and my Hcg levels were only in the 400's and I was 7-8 weeks along.   I was on bed rest the next day but that night I miscarried. I had a miscarriage on 11/25/08 They gave me another blood test the next morning and my Hcg levels were down to the 200's.  I didn't want to go to the Dr gain so I took a hpt a week after to see if my Hcg levels were down....  It was negative.

I took a hpt last night 12/23/08 and it is positive.  I think I should go to the Dr and get a blood test to check my Hcg levels...  I'm hoping everything will turn out alright but am afraid to get too excited.

I had the exact same thing happen with my first child.  No symptoms at all until the ultrasound looking for the heartbeat.  There was none.  I was heart broken to say the least.  I didn't even want to find out what the sex of the baby was.  I was sickened at the choice to let it run its course and have the baby come out later at home! I don't think so! I had a D&C also. After a cycle we tried and I got pregnant again. I was relieved to know I could try again within a few months.  I had a normal pregnancy (until the end with hypertension) and she was healthy, happy and now 10 years old.  I also have a healthy seven year old boy.
I was devestated and thought I would not be able to have a baby but stick to what the other woman posted and keep praying about it.  It works!
I hope everything goes smoothly with this pregnancy! Enjoy it and try lying in a tub and watch it kick later on! That was one my favorite parts about being pregnant!
