I am 29 weeks today and dont have any stretchmarks yet.
Have been using bio oil most days (when i remember) and it says that it is best to use in a circular kneading motion, not sure if there is any truth in this but its worked so far so im sticking to it
Loosing the extra baby weight make them 'smaller' they shrink back down with your skin. Other than that, time turns them a silvery colour which is much less noticable than the angry red that they start out at.
I agree with stress head bio oil all the way. Im 27w6d and i dont have any stretch marks yet so i cant tell you what it does on those but its also used for scars and some on the scars i have on my knees (from being a tomboy as a child) have been reduced. I did a bit of research pre prenancy and bio oil is fairly recommended even medically for disfiguring scars and stretch marks.
Unfourtionally there is not anyway of getting rid of strechmarks... All you can do is prevent more from showing their ugly face.... I am going to be 38 weeks tomorrow and I have been using a citris lotion throughout my whole pregnancy and I dont have any strechmarks on my belly.... My breasts are another story... I didnt get to them quick enough. I shot up a whole cup size in my first trimester and got them but they are really beginning to tone down to where they are hardly noticeable.
There is nothing that gets rid of stretch marks. All the creams make it so that it is easier for the skin to stretch but they can't actually prevent stretch marks. The good thing about them is that they fade with time. When I was pregnant I got the most ridiculous amount of stretch marks all over my stomach and they were bright red and angry and I honestly thought that they would be there forever. Well its now 5 months later and I can honestly wear a bikini because that are so faded that you can't really notice them unless you look really close. I heard that the purple/silver kinds are the ones that last but that the red/pink ones fade. I'm not sure what kind you have but you can try rubbing some lotion on them after you give birth something for intense healing and moisturizing since that (at least for me personally ) really helped.
I'm in UK but you might be able to get it online : Bio oil
Yeah they have a good cream out there....It is called a tummy tuck....LOL! Totally kidding. I had a bunch around my belly button and they have shrunk and faded. Trust me on a big swollen belly they look way worse!
It helps to moisterize everyday, if you think a part of your body is growing or may grow moisterize. Also, if it itches do not scratch, it tends to tear the tissues under your skin even more and make the stretchmarks worse. Lightly rub whatever itches.
The stretch marks won't go away, they will fade with time. But some of the info I gave you is to help not get the stretch marks, my doc offered this advice to me.
The answer is no. Stretch marks are actually formed from tissue below the skin so topical agents (e.g. creams which you rub on the surface of the cream) are ineffective.... sorry.
