Ohh that's good to know, I've been around cats my whole life, so that's good!
Thing I was told, although I still dont changr my kittens box but every now and then, was that the thing you have to worry about it toxoplasma which comes in their poo and it can infect you BUT if you had cats prior to pregnacy then it wont harm you or baby because you are more than likely amune to it. So my doctor says. But idk I would just use gloves and a mask and wash my hand IMMEDIATELY afterwards(:
I know, it just tastes different after! And I LOVE soft serve:(:(:( I'm not due til January so I might cave hahaha
I completely understand! All the ice cream shops are opened for the summer and I heard soft serve can cause literia if the machines aren't cleaned properly! So I'm avoiding that at all costs. Not to mention I'm 22 weeks and would kill for a COLD turkey sandwich lol. Heating it up just doesn't do it for me even if I let it cool down afterwards!
Ohh yes, and my cat would run from a mouse, honestly.. she's the worst cat ever. hahah And she also doesn't eat anything but dry cat food, so I think we're okay! just one of those things I think about, like heating up deli meats, I think I over think things a bit haha
in my opinion I think you should be fine. Outdoor cats become infected because they eat small animals that are contaminated such as rats birds mice ect. Also from eating raw contaminated meat (which can aslo infect a human). Not to mention I was told it has to enter your digestive tract to make you sick. So you would literally have to stick your hands in your mouth afterwards lol.And I'm pretty sure everyone washes there hands after cleaning the kitty litter!
I just found online the respirator face mask is the best thing to use when you change litter during pregnancy, thank you ladies!! I honestly didn't think of gloves, silly huh? walking around looking like an alien with a mask on but don't think of gloves!
Oh and she is an indoor cat, no outside at all!
Awesome, thanks ladies, I can't get rid of my cat, she has severe anxiety issues and would NOT last with another family, not that we'd ever get rid of her, and my husband works long hours, the last thing I plan on doing to him is making him change a litter box when he gets home. I just think of it as so many women don't know things like this and change litter boxes all the time and were fine, so I'll wear the face mask and gloves and wash my hands, and I think that will be fine!
I was told by my doctor that since my cats are strictly indoor pets the chance of contamination is extremely low. But to be on the safe side if I can't get someone to clean the kitty litter for me I should wear a face mask and rubber gloves. And to wash my hands immediately afterwards. Also I was advised to change the kitty litter everyday. Luckily for me my boyfriend does this! So I believe your facemask is good just make sure you wear rubber gloves too.
Hi its not the smell or fumes that us bad for u its the actual cat poop, I kno u will not touch the poop but throughly wash ur hands afterwards and u Shud b ok. That's wat tthey advise. I get my bf to change cat litter
Make your husband do it or get ride of kitty why risk it.
It's best 2 get someone else 2 clean the litter, but if u can't do that a face mask is the next best option
