Successful stories of using castor oil??

Hi, I just took 2 tablespoons of castor oil to try and get my labor going. First and foremost, please don't tell me not to do it and all of these horror stories of how it can make things go wrong for the baby. I am asking people who have SUCCESSFULLY gone into labor after drinking castor oil. Anyhow, has castor oil worked for any of you ladies? If so, how far along were you when you tried it? How long was it before you started going into labor (or had labor symptoms)? And how much did you take? Thanks (:

For the other girls, that have had success with it... I took 2 table spoons around 6 pm last night, nothing by 7 pm so I took 1 more, then by 8 a was in the bathroom.. I went to sleep around midnight. And nothing yet. Will it take longer (or 24 hours) to work? Or did it just not work for me?

Well... I already took it as it says in my post. That's why I asked for no one to tell me not to do it and all of these risks. Besides, castor oil is just as natural as taking shots of vinegar, I just honestly think the oil tastes better and can be mixed with something to mask the taste more. Also, it says right in my "What to Expect When Expecting", the most updated book and a book written and approved by doctors that castor oil is fine. Any how though, once again, this is why I said don't post and tell me not to do it and I already did it before wrote the post. So why would you tell me not to or try to scare me with some stuff when I've done my fair share of research. So thanks any way but no thanks and have a great day.

I could care less if  you think it's annoying or not.. & so what if I put my "2 cents" in,  it's that your problem? I DON'T THINK SO! Don't worry about what I comment unless it's towards you :)  so.. like you said yourself mind YOUR OWN cause I wasn't talking to you in the first place. & how is what I said rude? It's only facts, not like I'm making it up.. But w.e.. btw I'm not mad I'm in a great mood :)

My mom did too. She said she had really bad contractions but she had me in like 5 hours and less than 10 mins of pushing. Idk if I would personally take it, cause I dont feel like ******** my brains out for hours...

Because its annoying when people on here are trying to get advice and stuff and there is always those certain people that have to put there 2 cents in all the time. I'm not mad haha. You seem like you're the one that is all upset. The girl that posted clearly has already taken it and she doesn't need to hear people horror stories or feel like she is harming her baby. If you don't agree, simply don't take it. But for you to put out there that she is risking her baby and **** is rude. You seem really mature lol.

Even though she clearly says she isn't interested in people's negative opinions they still feel the need to jump in. I'm sure she knows risks and such. It's not your pregnancy. I don't understand why people try to make other feel bad about something just cause they don't agree. If you don't agree then don't freaking take it. Worry about your own pregnancy and let her make her own decisions.  Jeeze.

Ive heard castor oil has more risks then benefits, the only benefit being that it might or might not induced labor but could cause false contractions, still birth , even your baby doing bowel movement in the womb ! Just because it worked for some people doesnt mean it would work for you! So whyy evenn risk it .

Mäng women who have taken this lost there baby its dangerous i wouldnt risk my childs life to take this it can harm you aswell not just your baby yes some women ta worked and their fine and baby but doesnt mean everything will go like that because no one knows i wouldnt take it speack to your doctor or just wait until you naturally go into labour i no you want your babys but its worth the wait even if you go past your due date the doctors will induce you only saying this because i care and I wouldnt want anyone else going threw it good luck

You need to tell the dr bc you will be dehydrated more than normal and if you do not get a proper drip going you can have serious complications during birth. They will be able to tell by your urine sample that youre dehydrated too if you choose to try and hide it, and they will be suspicious and ask. It isnt bad, they just need to know if they need antibiotics at the ready and possible breathing treatments also immediately available for the baby should they swallow meconinium due to the castor oil. If it is something you do not want your dr to know about, you should really consider the harm you're possibly causing for no reason.

If youre going to attempt castor oil please do not double the DAILY dose at one time by taking 4tbsp. You are only supposed to have 2TBSP in a DAY.
