The glucose test

Everyone I have talked to made the glucose test sound so bad .. Is it really that bad ? What flavors did you ladies go with and what was the outcome ? Do they give you something to drink with it?

Thank you ladies you made me feel a lot better about this ever since I was little I've had a fear of throwing up .. And thinking about this test it has given me a lot of anxiety .. I'm going to ask for the orange drink . And I hope I pass so I don't have to do it again !lol

I didn't have to fast I had fruit punch drank it in 45 seconds waited an hour they took my blood I was done

I just did mine this morning. I drank the fruit punch. U have 5mins to drink it. I had to down it cause at first i was sippin it. But it made me naesus so i chugged it. Doesnt taste bad tho. Then u wait a hour and they draw ur blood. I didnt eat anything before going. I just woke up and went lol. It gave me a rush lol and def had to #2 bad after drinkin that 6oz of sugar lol

i didn't think it was bad.  I had a orange flavored drink.  It basically tasted like flat orange soda. They don't give you anything to drink with it.  I didn't eat before mine just to be safe.  I passed it.

That's how everyone made it seem to me too but when I took it it tastes exactly like fruit punch. Im like people over exaggerate so much!

I got orange. It tastes like sweetened gatoraid. Not horrible but not the greatest tasting stuff either. But hey it was only 8oz and you have 15 min to drink it. Before I was allowed to eat just nothing high in sugar. And no you can't drink anything with it because it could effect your test results. Don't worry its way easier than going into labor will be :p

I drank orange, it honestly didn't taste that bad to me, and I didn't get sick. I was expecting the worst because of all the horror stories I've heard, but it was easy.

I didn't even get to choose a flavor. Orange was all they had :(

It wasn't as bad as some ladies make it sound for me. I had the orange flavor and I just drank it right quick. I fasted only to find out I didn't have to fast. I didn't throw up, the sugar rush made my head spin a bit but it wasn't too bad. Just bring something to keep you occupied while you wait and you'll be fine.

I got orange always get it its not bad at all my clinic dont let you eat for an hour after u get it done.. I failed because I threw it up being u have to drink it in 5 min.. but reschedule it & passed

I was able to eat a piece of wheat toast, 1 egg, and a glass of water before my appointment. I drank the fruit punch flavor, and you have 5 minutes to drink it. You wait for an hour and they take your blood. You can't have anything to eat or drink while you're waiting. But its not bad at all!

I got lemon lime and I was told to eat a meal a few hours before hand for mine BC it made me vomit. Mmmm root beer flavor sounds awesome

I bounced over here because it was kinda slow over in our old- ladies forum today ;)
I've had two different flavors and actually liked them both- orange and rootbeer. They remind me of soda syrup before it gets mixed with carb water. Just very sweet. If you don't mind that, its nothing.

It wasn't completely horrible. I had orange for the 1 hr one. Had to fast for 12 hrs before and it made me a little nauseous. You drink it and an hour later they take your blood. I failed the first one and then had to take the 3 hr one. That one was a bigger bottle, orange flavored. Had to sit at the doctors and have my blood drawn every hour. Had to fast 12 hrs before that one too but it didn't make me nauseous for that one
