Thanks ladies...hopefully the bella band will buy me some time in my pants until I have to switch to maternity! I'm going to look at the site ovaz suggested too!
I have my bella band on right now! my work pants dont clasp anymore either, I just pull my band down over the top of them and it covers them up and looks like a tank top sticking out from under your shirt.. You can even get ones with lace on the bottom and stuff like that.. Just be careful about the size, they stretch but they do run a littl small.. I wear a small and I was a 0 pre preg and its pretty tight.. Sometimes it makes my belly itch, but they do work really nicely.. or if you can still button your pants but they "dig in" like you say, I just put my bella band UNDER my waistband, that way the buttons/clasps dont dig into my skin and im still comfortable!
Get a bella band, I love mine, I can still wear my gap jeans even though they are unbottoned and unzipped no one can tell and they don't fall down!!! I figured I was going to outgrow most of the maternity clothes by the end anyways so when this one won't work I will get the plus size band. I am almost 20 weeks (sunday) and have gained 8-10 pounds (depending on the day LOL)!!!
Go to Mimi Maternity... they have really cute (non preggo looking) dress pants. I swear, they should make these pants for the average Joe.... they are sooo comfy!!! I have been in "Maternity Clothes" since roughtly 12-13 weeks. There is now way, without a doubt, that I could wear any of my "pre-pregnancy" clothes now. I have gained 7 lbs and am 17 weeks. Trust me... for a while there, I was thinking "Ok... is this fat I am gaining or baby? Cuz right now, yeah... it looks like fat!" But, trust me... it is all baby :) Good luck and go get some comfy pants girl! You have to be comfortable in your clothes to teach :)
my dress pants have those stupid clasp things on the inside above the zipper...great trick for jeans or khakis though!
This is what I use to do maybe you'd like to try it...
Take a hair tye and wrap it around the button on your pants and then loop it through the hole and back onto the button...You can tighten or loosen it as you need.
Update: just got out of the shower and it looks like I've gained 3 pounds within 9 weeks...BUT still I don't think 3 pounds is cause to not fit into my pants...Luckily it is the weekend and my jeans seem to fit fine! It is just those darn dress pants!
