Travel after baby?

So my most of my family is here in Texas near me but all of my hubby's family is in Michigan. My mother pointed out that with the amount of time I will have off after the baby we could travel up there to see his family and the rest of mine. I am not opposed to that entirely but I have figured out I will have about 5 1/2 weeks off. Do ya'll think that is enough time to recover from giving birth and traveling? I don't have any idea yet if I will have a c-section or what. Oh and we would not be flying we would drive. I am due at the beginning of march and I am worried because here it would be cool (as in around 60's to 70's) and up there it could still be snowing. What is a mom to do?

That was what I was thinking. I am already a nervous wreck and of course thinking of every possible scenerio. C-section, episiotomy, and many other nightmares. I am probably over thinking this but man it is what I do best.

If you deliver naturally, the baby is all healthy, i don't see why not! I think it's SO much easier traveling with a newborn, they sleep constantly, they usually have two issues, hungry, or diaper change. I had my daughter in the winter, january, and was worried about her getting sick, bundle up really well and stay inside and sanitize as much as possible, I would go for it if all is well! :)
