Traveling

When would it not be a good idea to travel?  My mom lives about 3 hours away from me and wants me to visit her before the baby comes.  I am currently 34 weeks pregnant.  At what point in pregnancy would you not want to travel due to the fact that you could go into labor and not be home?

My dr suggest not to fly after 32 weeks and no driving more then an hour after 34... So I didn't listen and when I was 34 weeks I traveled 5 hours away for my best friends birthday and no I didn't go into labor but I paid for it in the end when my legs got very swollen and my back was hurting so bad even if we stopped and I walked aroun my feet felt so bruised my shoes didn't fit! I ended up in the er cus of how swollen my legs and feet were! I didn't think about how the drive would effect my body so be careful cus it's not
always about delivery...

I'd personally talk to my Dr first but I think as long as you aren't having contractions or showing signs of labor, as long as you take a couple of breaks along the trip, you don't stay for too too long and as long as you take it easy I would think it'd be OK. But talk to your Dr to be sure! My Granny lives about 2.5 hrs and I wanna visit her so bad :( I haven't seen her in a year and before that it had been 6 yrs. She's like my mom so I totally get wanting to see and spend time with her. But I'm also 34.5 weeks and am already showing signs of labor, they actually had to stop it the other day so I know my Dr wouldn't OK it
