My doctor said tuna is fine as long as you don't eat it more than twice a week. And its good for the baby to get those nutrients. I made a tuna casserole the other day and my family loved it. I don't usually like tuna. But I'm glad to be able to give my baby those nutrients he wouldn't otherwise be getting. Fish is especially good for the baby toward the end of pregnancy because the dha helps with their brain growth and development.
I even sneak in a frappe once a month or so. Shouldnt hurt the baby just makes him hyper. (Dont judge me)
You know the mercury is not good. But i understand your craving. But as pregnant ladies we could eat anything just in moderation.
To compensate for that maybe you can try canned chicken n eat chicken salad. N dress it like tune. Mayonnaise, eggs, parsley, salt pepper n garlic (im getting hungry :) it might not be exact but i think it will be a good substitute. It worked for me.
I just made tuna out the can the other day because I craving it, I'm glad I've seen this post. Now I gotta chill on eating it lol
you can have 12oz of light white can tuna a month and if you eat tuna thats not in a can you can have 6oz thats what my doctor told me so its safe to have to normal size sandwitches a week but no more then that
It's safe to eat. Just in moderation! I will say it over and over again. It's good to eat because of the nutrition. Very healthy for you and baby. just in MODERATION! :)
Its safe to eat light tuna.
You're good to eat it. My doctor said not to eat it every day all day, but he said the stuff to avoid was like shark meat and all that crazy stuff.
You can have tuna just not a lot of it. I think my midwife said something like twice a week at the max.
I would avoid it.. tuna has mercury along with some other fish. And its not good for your baby. Albacore tuna is apparently the worst when pregnant. But talk to your doc about other fish that are safe to eat cause the fish oil is really good for brain development. If you had it like once a week I think you'd be fine, but I'd ask a doc just in case :)
