Well, u/s don't cause anything to happen. With my son, I had them every 2 weeks from 10 weeks on to 35 weeks! Sometimes more than one in a week. Doesn't do anything to the baby, all sound waves.
Maybe she means 1 week from conceiving?
Anywho, i'm high risk, and I get them starting as soon as I find out i'm pregnant. Mostly to keep an eye on my cervix though, and keep tracking of the growing.
at least 4 weeks..the usual average is 5-6 weeks...and an ultrasound at 1 weeks you would not see anything..not much at 4 or 5 weeks most likely not much either at 6 weeks but possibly...
technically at one week pregnant you haven't even concieved yet. (The weeks are based on the life of the egg not the embyo) Conception is at 2 weeks, your missed period is at 4 weeks. so by the time you know you are pregnant you are at least 4 weeks. An utrasound at that stage doesn't show much at all. The soonest I ever had one was at 6 weeks. All you could see was a fetal pole, yolk sac, and a little flicker of a Heartbeat. Ultrasounds are safe for the baby, but I wouldn't expose the little guy to more that is needed because who knows what effects repeated exposure has. Good luck.
Yeah but an ultrasound at 1 week? ive never heard of that. Even at high risk they still have to wait to see if the pregnancy is in the right place. I would say he was either looking at your utuers, ovaries or seeing if you were farther along than you though.
No. An ultrasound is a routine procedure in pregnancy... people that are high risk (more likely to have a miscarriage) get more ultrasounds during pregnancy in order to make sure that they baby is developing properly which I dont think doctors would do if they thought it would cause a miscarriage. Ultrasounds basically just sound waves bouncing back and forth. I personally had about 8 or 9 ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy and my daughter was fine. Three of them were before 16 weeks.
What did you get an ultrasound for?
