Hi!
I'm sorry for the delay in response--was very ill for awhile
I hope by now you have had your follow up ultrasound.  Ultrasounds done in the ER are often less reliable than those done at the doctors office, for many reasons.

You have what is known as a threatened miscarriage, and will need to be watched carefully.  Many times the bleeding stops and the pregnancy continues to term with a healthy baby.  Other times, the bleeding can increase and miscarriage can result.

There is not too much that can be done, except to take it easy and rest.

I hope by now they have seen the heart beat--that is a good sign, if present.

Good luck!
