Yesterday my daughter came home and told me she got "shots at school and was a big girl!" Naturally I freaked and called the principal asking if any kids were given shots at school.
Well the principal called back and said they had dentists come visit to act out what would happen at a dental exam, to ease any fears kids would have about going. The principal acted as the patient and each kid got a toothbrush. So phew! When I asked Elaina later what she meant, she said, "They shine a light in your mouth! It's a shot!" Oy vey. Preschoolers and their inability to fully communicate what they mean!
Anyway, the principal is an amazing person. She told me they're working on better ways to communicate with parents; one way being electronic (so website/email?). They're going to talk all about it at the Parent Meeting tonight.
Let's hope today my daughter comes home with all her clothing and doesn't have anymore tall tales to share. ;-)
I'm sure things will only keep getting better! Schools are wonderful places where kids' best interests are always at the forefront of the teacher's mind.
thats great news..im glad u can relax now
