Some people may think it's horrible to not get the shot where as I think it's horrible to get them. Everyone has their own opinion.
I know the school here requires shots. My daughters were up to date but their old dr did not sign the shot record so they tried to make me give them all again. I had to get a power if attorney for a friend back at our old base and have the drs sign the shot records then fax it to the new dr and school. Pain in the butt.
4thonecoming- thats great!! Im still looking for the right pedi to go to thats supportive also....im considering the vitamin k, but may just eat the right foods instead if getting that
Tay9662- i would hate to live were you do, i just think everyone has their own opinion on the matter and it isnt right to be told what is best for your child by someone else (government) when for many reasons they should have no input on this subject :(
It's horrible not to get done.. When the baby or child would get sick it would be 5x worse without the shots and could become deadly, I'm requesting a extension on my baby's shots but here they are required they start giving them at 8 weeks, I'm getting hers at 12 weeks. But you can't get a "exemption" so that would be no school, no nursery, no daycare.. and if your child becomes deathly sick because you didn't get the child's vaccines to protect then you could face child endangerment charges here..
Where I live we just have to go to the health department and get an exemption and they are cleared for school or daycare
In my region they actually suspend kids from school for not having updated shots. My brother and sister missed out on two weeks because the doctor didn't have any in supply and the school wouldn't let them back in! But then on the other hand, I found out when I did my first bloodwork for this pregnancy that I never had my rubella shot and my school didn't say anything even though they should have.
I do the vitamin K but not the eyes. And at the check ups I just make sure they are growing ok and nothing is wrong. My doctor is very supportive of our decision and he knows where we stand, we've never had a problem with it
4thonecoming- what do you do at the hospital about the eye drops and vitamin k shot?? And do you take baby to its follow up appointments???
I ask because my older son stopped his vax at 4 mnths but not sure how to go about this bby from birth...
When I was going into high school they almost wouldn't let me in cause I didn't have a tetanus booster. Like really lol
I don't vaccinate my kids, I've never had a shot
Yeah i know theres certain states that you cant get around that....here i have an exemption for my son but he had vaccines until he waa 4 months so im not sure exactly what to do when this one is born
Here they wouldn't even be able to attend school. Even her pediatrician said if she isn't up to date on her shots they won't see her
