WANT A BABY BUT ASO HAD GASTRIC BYPASS DONE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND WANT TO HAVE A TUBAL REVERSAL DONE NOW AND HAVE APOINTMENT TO HAVE DONE IN LESS THEN A MONTH PLEASE HELP:

I HAD A TUBAL LIG. DONE MAY 1998 AND IT ONLY HAS A SILICONE BAND AND JUST HAD GASTRIC BYPASS DONE SEPT. 2010. CAN THE BANDS COME UNDONE AND IF SO HOW WILL YOU KNOW. AFTER I HAD THE TUBES DONE I WAS ON BIRTH CONTROL DEPO SHOT UNTIL A YEAR AND HALF AGO AND THEN STOPPED THE SHOT THEN STARTED TO GET REGULAR PERIODS AGAIN BUT HAVING ALOT OF BLOOD CLOTS WHEN HAVE PERIODS ONCE A MONTH AND DOESNT GO AWAY THE WHOLE TIME I AM BLEEDING WHY I AM NOT SURE AND JUST ASKED THE DOCTOR ABOUT THIS LAST MONTH AND THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT IS WRONG. ALSO I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP EACH MORNING WITH HEADACHES ABOUT A WEEK OR FEW DAYS AFTER BEING OFF PERIOD EACH MONTH THIS JUST STARTED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO.
I HAVE APOINTMENT FOR A TUBAL REVERSAL TO BE DONE IN FEBRUARY 2011 SO CAN HAVE A BABY WITH CURRENT HUSBAND OF 8 YEARS.
HOW CAN I TELL IF CAN GET PREGNATE AFTER HAVING GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY AND ITS ONLY BEEN A FEW MONTHS IN BETWEEN OF EACH OTHER AND HOW CAN I TELL IF THE BANDS CAME OFF?

I have a gastric sleeve done 2 weeks ago. Spoke with dietician and surgeon about it and i am right to start trying in 9 months, however this is only because i had a lap band previously. They said its best to wait 18 months after weight loss surgery before falling pregnant.

If you are concerned that you are pregnant take a test to see. If its neg might be best to use a back up form of contraceptive until the bands are removed

you can get pregnant and would only know if you took a test to see if you are. What you are decribibing with the clots sounds liek cysts and like tubal ligation syndrome and should get beter after you get the reversal. I had a reversal after having a triple burn on my tubes and now have a baby boy 7 months old.

WHo is doing your surgery? Make sure they do not use stints as that can casue scaring and lead to blocked tubes. Also I suggest taking your basal body temp and learning your cycles to maximize your chances of conception. Also have Betas drwn and early ultrasound when you do get pregnant to make sure it is not a eptopic pregnancy. you have a higher chance after having surgery on the tubes.

The gastric bypass will not have anything to do with the pregnancy but it might be good to wait till you loose weight decided by your dr before trying as being to over weight can cause complications in pregnancy and you would not want to be looseing weight during the pregnancy and I would think after the bypass you might loose to quickly. Talk to your dr about that. Best of luck to you! Oh and I had my tubes burned for 7-8 years before having them repared
