Waiting after miscarriage
Hi. I have a question... I had a miscarriage on August 31.... Wouldve been about 5 weeks... Natural. No d&c required. Hcg was 14 on 31st ten on sept 2 they were 5.... My doc said I could continue trying as this was not a problem... This was a new doc for me so I don't want to keep calling with questions.... Comfort level not established just yet... Anyway... I normally have 26-27 day cycles... No normal period since July 26... With the miscarriage I had half day of bleeding then jut spotted off n on for a week or so... Now I am just waiting... All symptoms disappeared as u would expect after the miscarriage but now ita different and Many are back but different.... Nausea, pain to breasts at times, quivering in lower abdomen at times, and at times my nipples feel like they are going to bleed... Is this normal? I took a preg test and could see the faintest of a second line but...

The same thing happen to me. My fiancee and I have been trying to concieve for about six months before we found out we were pregnant. A week after finding out (7 weeks and 5 days preg), I began to spot bright red blood, then it turned brown. The doctor told me that there was nothing to worry about because the brown discharge meant that it was old blood, but I was still a little concerned. Later on that day, I began bleeding very heavy with bright red blood and decided to go to the emergency room. When they conducted an emergency ultrasound, they did not see any fetal heartbeat or an fetus for that matter, but they did see an ovarian cyst. My Hcg levels were at 137 when I was at the ER, but when I went to my follow up appointment, it had dropped down to 25. The doctor told us to wait until I have at least one normal period before trying again, but a second opinion told me to wait until I'm ready. I stopped bleeding completely on August 30, 2010 and my fiancee and I have been trying ever since. So far, it has been about 5 weeks and my period still has not showed up! I am just praying and hoping that I am Pregnant again. I also took a pregnancy test as well and I got a BFN, but like Emma said, "At least you got a second line"...8-)
We have been trying since January, so i would say for about 9 months, but after 7 months we concieved and had a miscarriag at almost to months along. I have a son (4 years) and a daughter (10 months). She will be one in December..lol...We were trying to get pregnant early, i know, but its a long story.lol...i have been having some symptoms..many of them, but i dont know whats going on...i dont know what to think.. i have been a little bloated, indigestion, feeling sick, gagging when brushing teeth, stupid headaches, tiggling in the breast, and been having dizzy spells lately. I dont know what to think. Maybe I should take a first response or something. Also I have to mention the fact that I have gotten extremely lazy. Soooo tired! and soo hot all the time...idk..need to find out...ima test again this weekend if it still hasnt come down, but this time ima use a FIRST RESPONSE and see what response i get.

I was almost convinced last mth was pregnant. I am now going on the times I have been pregnant I have absolutely no signs...no moodiness no nothing ..pregnancy signs are too similar to horrible mean AF ...Keep positive though because a lot of people do seem to fall pregnant the next cycle. You cld try one of those first response 6 day early test that wld prob pick somthing up if you were. Its a nightmare I know exactly how u feel i still feel rubbish but try not to think about it. How long have you been trying for? do u have any other kids? Good luck.. am on a mission this mth if can find the energy!! x

well...my miscarriage started August 23, 2010 and ended August 30, 2010. My cycle is usually 28 days, but that means that my period should have came on September 20, 2010 or September 27, 2010. Im not sure when to start counting, but I just know that it is now October and still no period. I have this everlasting headache, indigestion, mood swings, frequent urination, and I feel very hot alot(like hot flashes)...I took a test today and it still said NEGATIVE...IM NOT LIKING THIS AT ALL!!! I have also been discharging white egg white mucus, but no smell to it. I dont know, but I am going to wait until after the 20th to test again if my period doesnt show because something is not right and I am beginning to stress even though I am trying to stay calm! What do you think emjane289?
u just never know.. when are you due on? Drives me insane all the wondering, leave it few days and take another test.. I spent a fortune last mth on tests and was all a big waste this month am on a mission to not think about it!! easier said than done! good luck xx
i have another situation that happened to me yesterday...i began spotting pink blood yesterday morening, but it was very light and it only happened that one time when i went to the bathroom..All of a sudden the spotting was gone. At first I thought that I was about to have my period, but it didnt not come down...my pregnany test are still negative, but im thinking that maybe it could have been implation bleeding. Any thoughts on this subject... Curious to know...
am with you on that one :-(...nevermind positive thinking at least we are ovulating here's to the next two weeks TTC - JOY!!...am now thinking am going to chill as its always nice to have a few drinks at xmas perhaps 2011 will be my year...I have 3 children and was not even thinking about a 4th but then when fell preg last mth - having got over the shock was over the moon only to lose it - what was the point in that?? now almost feel greedy wanting a 4th, I am soooo grateful for what I have and I guess if it happens it happens.. I had a miscarriage before my first, conceived doing it once with my 2nd then 4 yrs later had IUI for my 3rd...fingers crossed for you it happens soon and hey its happened before for you so no reason why it won't again.. How long have you been trying for? xx

If you were my patient, I would repeat the quantitative hcg (pregnancy test). I wonder if you have a new pregnancy! Certainly, there is no harm in waiting another week and repeating the home test. If the line goes away then you will know. Most of the urine tests are negative until the hcg level reaches about 50, so I would definitely encourage you to call your new doctor and have a blood test.

Emjane... Yea I have a four yr old... My blessing!!! FYI ladies the period after a natural miscarriage without a d&c is horrible!!! I say again horrible!!!
Hello everyone ! It's looks like we all have similar situations . I found out I was about 5wks 4days pregnant,.I had a m/c 8/28 i went to the dr and it was confirmed...since I wasn't that far along I decided to have the natural m/c...I bled off and on for about 6 days..my bleeding completely stopped 9/3/10.... Since, then we've been pretty "busy"..and I'm starting to have some of those same preg symptoms..I'm very cranky/moody, tired,bloated..I took a test a week after the bleeding stopped and it was negative ...I took one yesterday 9/28 and got a faint line ....could this be effects from the m/c or it possible that I may be again....?

I am sorry to hear this, but like you all said, "Just continue trying" because honestly having your period only lets you know that you are now back on track and you are ovulating like you are suppose to. Me personally, I am going to retest if my period has not came by October 5, 2010. that will be my sixth week after my miscarriage. This is truely an emotional rollercoaster. I do not like this, but I am ready for whatever. I for some reason believe that I am going to get an BFP soon...I just dont know, but I could be wrong. Maybe it's because I want my baby back so badly. I have 2 kids, a boy (4 years) amd a girl (9 months)..I love kids and I plan to have just one more before I finish school, so by the time I get into my career, I wont have to worrt about having any more kids...lol...unless God permits it...8-)...Anywho IM STILL PRAYING! but I must admitt that I am scared!
Am sorry to hear that it is dissapointing but at least you know now and can concentrate again TTC in wk or so....I got 2 BFN this am so still waiting I know now I am not pregnant just want AF so can try again. Do you have any children? x
Emjane I got my bfn today in the form of af... Well maybe it's for the best.... God is in control and I will just begin a normal cycle of ttc again in roughly fourteen days.... Hoping the best for u tho... They say ur normal cycle should begin in 4-6 weeks following mc... Mine was four to the date!
Oh fingers crossed for you, you never know there does seem to be a lot of people who test early do get BFN...I even did last mth, I tested on the day I was due on with a cheap tesco one got BFN then tested again on day 34 and got BFP......so wishing I am but thinking as got BFN then no....mind games all day everyday its so much worse since having a miscarriage I was so chilled out before. I am starving all day which is very unusual for me as I dont seem to get much of an appetite...thinking just all pshychological tho...hopefully not long to wait now but again when ?? how long does a period take to return?? Are you going to test again? I will be on day 31 tomo so may try leave it til thurs or fri xx
Thanks y'all.... It's so good to talk to people who really understand... Everyone else shy away from the subject waiting for you to break... My second line was so faint tho... If I wasn't obsessing I wouldn't have even seen it.... I'm going to try and wait a few days before I retest but it's soooo hard!!! I just wish I knew.... But to scared to call doc yet... Don't wanna give up all my hope

Scary I also had a miscarriage though day before you, am also going through the same thing...soooo tired, eating loads, no PMT...all symptoms have had before when pregnant. My cycle is always 31 days I did a preg test on day 27 n got BFN... not convinced though will wait until day 31 n test again if nothing. I had cramping last week and felt conviced AF was on its way but nothings as yet! Am totally with you on just wishing for something just so can get on again with TTC,....this is doing my head its on my mind 24/7.. sounds all good for you though at least you got a line.. good luck xx
