Try the gummies you can get them at any Walmart or Walgreens
Folic acid is important the ENTIRE pregnancy.. so are all of the other vitamins and minerals..unless you're eating the 100% recommended serving of every food group, you will be lacking in some areas. Prenatals prevent so many birth defects and help keep mama healthy and baby healthy. They are very important.
Strange they only gave me three months worth with my son and this pregnancy. I wasn't planning either of my pregnancies so I wasn't taking anything before either. I guess my doctors are not to bothered :)
They do sell gummy prenatals at walmarts and walgreens and why would u have to ask ur doctor to switch u dont u usally just go to the store and buy the kind u want
I'm in the UK and my boxes of prenatal are all for 1 months supply. My midwife told me to take it through pregnancy - but maybe that was because I hadn't been taking it prior to getting pregnant.
In the uk they only tell you to take it for the first twelve weeks. And they give you three months worth of tablets.
You should take folic acid the whole way througg pregnancy, but it's especially important in the first trimester. Having said that, as long as you have a healthy, balanced diet, you should be fine even without a prenatal.
Your only supposed to take folic acid till twelve weeks anyway. I found out I was pregnant at 11 weeks with my first and only took them for a week he is a healthy two year old now.
I'm 21 weeks and I stopped taking mine at the end of my first trimester. Just make sure you pay attention to what you're eating so the baby gets nutrients from that.
