What is it like?

To have a newborn child? I've heard such bad things about them screaming and crying all the time. I expect it to be exhausting after your body going through labor and the constant feedings for a while, but when does it get better?

I guess doctors are different they told me to, to work out a sleeping and eating schedule. I'm gonna try to so it but babies have minds of their own.:) so may not work with this one. My daughter didnt sleep threw the night for a while. But eventually got into it, and then didnt again. But good luck to all you mommies hope you Ll get enough rest when out bundles of joy are here:)

I have never heard of waking baby up after feedings. I didn't do it with my son and I let him get on his own schedule, it didn't take long before he was sleeping through the night. All babies are different, I hope my daughter is like my son was. :)

I'm hoping it goes well my son kicks me like crazy if I don't eat every two hours. So I'm hoping he's a great baby boy even if he isn't I'll still love spending time with my little guy :) <3

I agree completely with ktown.
I am expecting my third. And I have co slept with both my children and will do so this time around as well. They wear in their own beds after weaning and took to it just fine. They were completely sleeping threw the night and had toddler beds at one year of age. But they could also walk by then. I don't recommend a toddler bed until they are good walkers. But anyway they are 3 and 5 and unless they are sick they do not want to sleep anywhere but their beds.everyone has their own parenting style and what works for them.
Bye 6 months baby should have everything down on their own :)

I listen to my baby's doctor when they tell me to put a baby on a schedule slowly because its better baby in long run. & I won't have my baby up during the night till they are 3 years old. But that's just me. You got to do what's best for you, & your baby every parent is different as we can tell. But there's nothing wrong with that, parents do good doing things they wanna do. I just so what easiest for my child and I & what I've been told helps. But will see how this baby works out.

its very hard to expect to a baby on a sleep schedule. they sleep for a reason, to grow, all the way up til 6 months they sleep a lot, it's normal and healthy. make sure there is lots of natural light during the day and keep it quiet and dark at night, baby will get their own routine.

My baby has been very calm in my belly surprisingly. I'm hoping he'll be that way after as well. I just can't wait to snuggle him!

I have heard horror stories about babies on schedules. That they stay on that schedule after they no longer need to be so now you are stuck with a baby that wakes up just because thats.what its.used to. I am not waking my baby up because if she needs something she will let.me know. She already throws temper tantrums in.the womb if i.go to long without eating.

I'm just worried cause I had colic and stomach problems when I was born and constantly cried. Yeah I've always heard it isn't good for you to lie down or sleep for so long after you eat so I think it makes sense not to let a newborn do the same.

My doctor told me if she falls asleep after she eats to wake her up don't always let them sleep after being fed. Took me a while but I ended up getting my daughter on one a little late. This one she's gonna be on one so its easier for her & myself.

Honestly I heard the same thing my first pregnancy. But I think people tell you that to scare you. My first baby was easy. He slept through the nigh and even during the day (he slept a lot), I had to wake him for feedings and changings during the night, I was able to get a lot done during the day as well, he was very mellow, up until he turned 2 (besides the late night sick) he was good, he hit the terrible 2's and now I wish he was still a baby he was easier. Even during teething he was really good, no one knew he was teething, and they say getting their 2 year molars hurt, he got those first and didn't phase him at all....

In my case my son was easier as a newborn than he is as a 2 almost 3 yar old. lol Newborns are pretty simple, there is only a number of things they could want and they sleep a lot. There are some cases like colic babies where they cry all the time or if they are in pain for some reason or something but other than that babies are easy to keep content. Or atleast my son was, Im having a girl and don't know what to expect.

Be sure to try to get them on a sleeping schedule instead of letting them sleep all day, I learned that with my daughter or else they'll be up a million times during the night. Other then that I loved having a newborn. I'm 39 weeks today with my second!
