What medicine is safe?

Im coming down with a cough/cold is there any medicine that is safe or medice to avoid? Dayquil, nyquil etc

I got sick at about 18 weeks and I used Vicks vapor rub, I mentioned it to my doctor And I thought he was going to pass out....he then proceeded to tell me that it's NOT SAFE! it does state on the label not to use while pregnant, might sound crazy but being that it was only Vicks I didn't even think of looking at the label. So just a heads up, you shouldn't use Vicks. At least not a lot like I was

my obgyn says tylonol products are the safest rout and so i tried tylonol cold and flu sever and it worked awsome and my baby is still healthy
