What's the earliest chance of a miscarriage?

I've been on birth control for six years, and I have never missed a period. Last month I missed my period so I stopped taking my birth control unsure if I was pregnant, and I've started bleeding a week before I usually would. It's extremely heavy and I'm extremely uncomfortable, bad cramping and back aches... I have never had such a heavy flow before. I'm worried that it's not just my period, but is it possible to miscarry this early, I'm not positive of a pregnancy this is just extremely unusual.

It's called withdrawal bleeding and it's caused by stopping your birth control pills. It is very common, I even experienced it when stopping. On bc pills, you don't have a real period because you don't actually ovulate (release an egg) and the bleeding you have each month while on the "placebo" week of pills is synthesized by the bc pills. So I would not be worried about a miscarriage, as this sounds just like withdrawal bleeding from the pills. Also, it is probably stronger than usual and uncomfortable because your body isn't used to producing it's own hormones and is trying to regulate itself.

Birth control has always worked for me, I'm not sure if you've missed doses because that can screw up your cycle. If your concerned check w/ your health care provider for peace of mind.

They say a lot of miscarriages happen so early that women don't even know they are pregnant and like 90 percent or something like that happen in the first trimester
