I said when we found out either one would be fun...I think just in different ways. Honestly think if I had a boy I'd probably keep his hair at least 6 inches long too, I always liked little boys with long hair, so even if I had one I'd probably still be dealing with the hair issue.
@Arianna, I'm Mexican-American and I have a full head of thick, dark, curly/wavy hair that kind of does its own thing. Goes over halfway down my back and takes over an hour to straighten, so I don't bother except for special occasions. It does better when it has length to weigh it down so I'll probably try the same strategy for my daughter's hair. We'll see how it goes, but I'm sure we'll figure it out. :)
Im with you on the hair mamabear. Im native american & i have to straighten my fro everyday and my husband is black so my poor babygirl is going to have some crazy hair! Hes military so we live in hawaii which means his family wont be around to help me learn how to do african american hair, i dont know im going to do lol.
I love having my three girls!! I was a very prissy girly girl when I was little and my girls are the same way!! They love bows in their hair and cute little dresses!! And they love when I find matching dresses too!! It's lots of fun to dress em! The down side is the whining!!! They fight n argue over silly things and pout when they don't get their way!! But I'm soooo looking forward to finally having a boy! It will be a welcome change!! I'm looking forward to tonka trucks!! ;-)
I'm hoping she'll come out super laid-back like her dad, so that I can dress her however I want. I definitely plan to dress her as cute as I can before she learns how to talk and to protest either way. :)
In my family the boys tend to cause a lot more problems and worry than girls, so I'm hoping she follows that trend as well and I was actually somewhat relieved when I found out. The only thing that worries me about later is what her dad will do to the first boy who tries to put the move on his baby girl. I have visions of a scene like in Bad Boys II lol.
I used to curse having to do our daughter's hair in the morning but now that I realize the days of having my little girl pick 5 elastics are coming to an end (we are expecting a boy this time and set on it being our last), I have been making sure to enjoy it.
I have 1 of each and to me my boy is so much easier. My daughter is 6 and we fight about her hair everyday! She loves it done "pretty" but she HATES it being brushed. Shes also soooo picky with her clothes. One day shes girl and wants to wear a dress with high heels and the next shes wearing ripped jeans and tennies. I cant shop without her bcus if i buy it and she doesn't like it she WONT wear it! She also has to have every barbie, justin bieber doll, monster house doll, ect. My son is just so layed back and self entertaining. His hair is so easy i just get it cut every 2 wks and he wears hats a lot. I love them both but i personally just think boys are easier.
This is my first and im still coming to terms with her being a she. I cant wait to watch her grow up and I will tell her everyday that she is beautiful. I wanna have a real open relationship (more so when shes older I guess) cause I didnt have that with my mum. And of course I cant wait for all the girly clothes :)
Im having a boy and i wanted a little boy so my fave thing is i can just cut his hair off if he gets lice. Also i dont have to worry about buying all pretty dresses and stuff lol
Well I have 3 girls and we love to shop get toes and nails done but if this a boy then my husband will have someone to get his hair cut with I can't wait til tue
Lol at the diapering comment, picturing him running around half-naked lol; definitely some funny picture opportunities there. The hair thing is a slight concern for me, I have long hair myself and like playing around with it, but my baby is biracial/biethnic (Black/Mexican) so it's going to be a learning process for me. Besides if she's anything like me...stubborn and independent...she might not have much patience for me messing with her hair.
I like that if my little boy ends up with unmanageable hair I'll be able to just cut it off and be done with it. Also, since I live out in the country, I think it'll be extremely easy to get him out of diapers (he may not use the potty a whole lot, but at least he won't be in diapers).
