Wheezing baby

My 18 day old son has started wheezing, is there something I can do for him or do I have to wait till we see the doc? Is there a reason he's wheezing?

If he is weezing you need to go to the Er ASAP!! DO not wait to go to the dr's office unless they are open where you are. Weezing in that little of a baby can lead to serious problems and could be RSV a severe resporitory illness that usually requiers hospitilization. Weezing is airway restriction and waiting can cause harmful things to the body, loss of oxygen which means less oxygen to the brain and body and lungs!!!!! Please go ASAP this is serious and needs medical attention NOW!

It could also be croupe. My son had it at 9 months and when we took him to the ER the doc said it was very good that we brought him in. I agree, don't wait, get your baby checked out now.

at 18 days if it's true wheezing you should see a doc now.

Thanks all, sorry I should have mentioned he  was only wheezing when he eats and they said that he's just forgetting to breath when he's eating ( they also said he's being a pig and eating too much) so it turns out he's fine.

OH was he a preemie? I know the breath suck swallow thing is common in premature babies. I am glad to hear he is OK!! That is scary to even hear about! So how do you remedy the weezing when he eats now?

He was only 4 days early, they told me he will get the hang of it, he's just so focused on food and I have a lot of milk that he forgets but he still does breath on his own, they said I could break the latch for a min or so then try again, it seems to be helping.
