Soda is terrible for anyone pregnant or not and Gatorade can make you swell a lot during pregnancy due to the sodium content. I would stick with 100% juice or water.
Coconut water is a good natural alternative to Gatorade.
Soda can actually dehydrate you so it's best not to have too much. Plus it's just empty calories your baby won't benefit from. Gatorade has electrolytes so if you are vomiting it might help to rehydrate but other than that it's just sugar water and artificial flavor. Juice, milk, and lots of water are best.
Gatorade is probably better.
Water is best though.
And soda is not too good but you can indulge your craving sometimes just try to follow with water :)
lol Gatorade for sure. Just not too much of it. Gatorade is high in sodium, so while it keeps you hydrated and provides electrolytes, it can contribute to high blood pressure if too much is consumed. soda is pure caffeine and sugar and empty calories. no nutrients.
@lainebug I'm high risk too, so I guess it's water and gatorade! Lol thanks ladies!
I agree, I LOVE water! It's been my favorite drink for my whole life pretty much. I was just craving gatorade and hubby said no soda is better haha and yes I love root beer too!
My doctor told me just to drink water and if I wanted something "special" to drink gatoraid. But I'm on a high risk pregnancy. Idk if that goes for pregnancy in general.
Water is your best option but Gatorade keeps you hydrated...soda is terrible lol the sugar and caffeine are bad...but two sodas a week isnt so bad...ive limited myself to one soda a week cuz i LOVE Rootbeer and Dr.Pepper haha
I think It depends if the soda is caffine free or not... im not sure but i think gatorade is better its suppose to keep you hydrated .
