Ok thanks everyone I have a dr apt today so in going to ask her about it.
For us in the Philippines, the pertussis vaccine is part of the babies vaccination at 2 months old. Just avoid sick coughing people as much as possible.
If you get it after delivery your baby is still protected since parents are at the highest risk of spreading pertussis to an infant. If you're immunized even after delivery the risk of your baby getting pertussis lowers considerably.
Lol your supposed to get it while being pregnant so the baby won't get it
Will I got the shot the next day of my delivery the baby won't get the shot as they say the people around take it the hospital will ask if you want it will that's where I live
Also Pertussis is a highly contagious bacterial disease that causes uncontrollable, violent coughing. The coughing can make it hard to breathe. A deep "whooping" sound is often heard when the patient tries to take a breath
When an adult gets it the cough sounds like a whoop sound and for children especially infants its deadly practically for infants they get a fever can't breathe coughing something like ammonia but way worse
It's a very contagious, respiratory infection...it's pretty much coming back because people aren't getting vaccined. Lovely.
Also called pertussis it is a serious bacterial respiratory infection. It can be deadly to infants and toddlers. You should ask your doctor If you're still eligible to fit the shot.
