I am 19 weeks and have never drank one ounce of alcohol this whole pregnancy. My husband got us some really wonderful white wine for Mother's Day dinner he's making for me. Is it okay to drink a little glass of it?

I had a glass of wine today! Don't feel bad everyone's opinion is different but to me I've been super careful for 22 weeks and I deserve it! Happy mommies day! Have a nice night!

I have asked the same question. My mom has had 8 kids and I've asked other mother's and a doctor. A glass of red wine is OK. I'm not sure about the white wine tho.

I wanna make you guys aware I'm not some alcoholic haha. I'm very healthy, baby is healthy, and I've done everything I possibly can to make sure baby is doing well. I appreciate all of your comments and opinions. I just called my OB and she said it's okay to have half a glass(like I asked her) with dinner ONE time lol. I don't plan on touching it again after today. I have great self control. I don't see how having a half of a glass of wine is any more damaging than smoking weed, cigarettes, eating processed foods, etc(which I don't do any of, given the processed foods, I try to avoid that as much as possible but we all know how many things are processed). I think I'll be okay. Thanks guys!

It isn't uncommon for women in other countries to consume during pregnancy.  But I think that is because they don't drink to get drunk like most Americans do. I personally haven't because I don't want to. But I don't see harm in a little as long as you aren't drinking to get drunk.

Your baby's vital parts are formed
think of all the women whobdidnt know they were pregnant until 5/6 months especially people who were partying during that time.. almost all of the time the children are fine and perfectly healthy and here you are taking really good care of yourself a glass or a sip on mothers day is almost guaranteed not to be detrimental as long as your healthy and for your husband to do sonething so sweet why not taste it? Dont stress on it too much im pretty sure French women drink wine their entire pregnancy

Personally I would say no? I have heard something about red wine but I dont see why women would drink any amount of alcohol during pregnancy

I wouldn't risk it. Doctors have no idea how much alcohol it will take for it to harm your baby. Some women drink a lot and their babies are fine and some women drink one glass of wine and the baby has issues. Don't risk it.
