Work rights

I left work this morning for an emergency midwife appointment as i couldnt feel my baby move, i was then referred to hospital for a physiotherapy class after the babies heartbeat was heard and my manager says that i would have to take it as a sick day? Am i right in thinking that this day would be paid for as it is preganncy related?

i know that my company allows you time off for appointments during your pregnancy and this would count as that. I would definitely check with HR. In UK im pretty sure they have to give you time off for antenatal appointments but double check.

If your sick days are paid. It varies from place to place, so I'd call your Human Resources office and ask.
