Thanks waiting21 and Joyrenee. I am thinking now that my ICs just may be evaporation lines. I just don't know. I am now officially a woman obsessed though after my clearblue not so clearblue line! I bought a FRE today with the intention of holding out til 12 DPO (Friday). I broke down though at work and used it - BFN.
Just to confuse myself more I came home and used 2 ICs but held them in my urine for longer than the 10 secs it says. Both almost immediately came up with thicker lines than previously - still faint but slightly more colour than my previous ones. What is going on?
I think I'll do your experiment with the water JoyRenee!
I feel so pathetic not to mention cross eyed from trying to analyse tests. I'm defo not going near another test until Friday. It's too early for me anyway to get an accurate result.
I hate those ICs (Internet Cheapies). I got evaps every single month and they'd show up before the 10 minute mark. So as a little experiment, since I had so many anyway, I dipped one in water and one into a man's urine. I still got faint lines with those experiments. Here I am a few months later and still not pregnant.
You can get evaporation lines with any test really, except for digital. Try buying some digital tests on Ebay. If you have to squint or shine a light on or through the test, it's most likely an evaporation line. You need to be able to see it clearly without having to squint and turn the test around.
I hope it's your month! Try testing later, like 10-14 dpo for a better result!
Evaportation lines can show up after 10 minutes, so don't read those as positives. I know that First Response showed up BFP when my HCG levels were as low as 18, so there are sensitve tests out there that will show up a faint line. I hope you get another BFP!
Thanks for all of the replies - very helpful!
For some reason my internet strips seem to have gone blank again - does this happen I wonder? I can still see the mark for the second line but now I'm becoming doubtful.
Clearblue still has the very faint line. It's more visible at the bottom half (prob cos I did in the loo at work and had to put it into my bag at an angle!)
Ovaz129 - I just went back and read your posts. I think things look really good for you with 3 faint BFPs! I'm sorry about your lost babies - it's so unfair. Did you conceive with treatment or on your own even with your hubbies slow swimmers? I have been searching the net for success stories of women conceiving naturally even with poor counts. Ovaz, I really really do hope that you get your BFP. I might test on Thursday/Friday if I can hold out that long but more than likely I'll test tomorrow too! Super sticky babydust to you and me and all others ttc!
Please let me know how you get on?
Wow... I guess I should have read your post before putting mine up. Oh, well! I am having the same thing... I am going to retest on Wednesday. Although, I am now 13DPO... so I am hoping that by Wednesday it will be a blaring BFP. (I tested on Saturday and Sunday). I, too, dont want to get my hopes up. 2 miscarriages, and my husband has some slow/non-moving swimmers and some that are not "normal"! So, similar boat you are in ;) Hope you are preggo! (and me too!)
My first tests I had taken both showed up so faint I thought I was imagining things. I had to actually turn them in the light to see anything. When I went to the doctor I found out it was because I was just so early. I'm now 24wks pregnant :). Evap lines only show up if you wait too long normally. If you got that faint line in the time limit and it's getting darker you're most likely pregnant.
I'm thinking it could possibly be a pregnancy, especially since the opk is getting darker, or maybe you are ovualting for a second time this month. Either way, good luck and get baby dancin incase it is a second O.
Thanks for the quick response! I know I should make a doctors apt asap. I will test again in the morn :-p and see if I get the same result again. If so, I'll go straight to the doctors. Are doctors tests more reliable?
Also, I just read your mood in your profile. I'm so sorry for your loss.
A faint line is a positive! I have been pregnant twice and all the tests that i done were very very faint so i would say that it is a positive BUT i would go to the doctor to get a blood test done just to confirm. Good luck.
