acne

I'm breaking out so bad, worse than I used to before I was pregnant. I'm 9w2d today. when does it stop? :( it's killing my self esteem. I wash my face regularly, and I don't use face make up like foundation or concealer. I just wish my hormones would balance out.

Yes being pregnant comes with alot of changes.  Also laying on your left side is good for you and baby suppling more blood flow to baby and helping you sleep better and keep swelling down that will happen latter in pregnancy closer to due date. If swelling does happen in feet and ankles try to keep feet elevated to reduce it. Other than that congratulations and enjoy becoming a new mommy

I'm 23, 40wks and 4dys ova due witch is normal and a full term pregnancy.  I'm having a boy and before I got pregnant I never broke out not once with acne unless it was that time of the month and it would only be one to two pimples! When I got pregnant I started to brake out really bad it was irritating and embarrassing and I felt ugly. But I also found out that it could come from some soaps, facial washes, and or certain types of food and mostly the changing of hormones.  But what really help keep the acne down was a hot water facial wash and alcohol.  I stopped using soap and water to wash my face and just used hot water it cleans the pours and steams the face getting out the dirt and oil. Then after the wash I would take a cotton ball applying green alcohol on it and rub it in a circular motion all over my face trying not to breath in the smell because was strong and once i started doing this after a couple of days to a week they started to get smaller and clear up. The alcohol also cleans and dry out oil and dirt left in our pours due to us being preg our skin can get really oily or dry. This worked for me and I'm sure it would work for you to. My baby's father told me to do it and it's been working ever since and he has perfect skin. Although.it will get worse if you dont take care of your skin and if you never had acne before pregnancy it will clearing up at end of pregnancy like mines did. Try to do this every morning and night if u can. Please try not to breath in alcohol smell it's strong and can affect baby if you breath too much in. Keep towel or piece of paper with u to fan face after applying alcohol to dry faster and reduce inhaling alcohol fumes..

I'm having the same problem. But,  unfortunately I'm at 33 weeks, and it hasn't gotten any better.  I've tried many different face washes, and I don't ever wear make-up. It doesn't bother me though, I've got tired of trying.
