Most doctors wont do any kind of fertility testing until you have been trying for a year.you cannot just go and ask for clomid. It can also be used for women who ovulate by themselfs but have poor egg quality,it helps by producing mature eggs.it will not work for everyone.it can cause twin pregnancys, not overly common, and you will need to be monitored whilst on it.as it can over stimulate your eggs.if you have been trying for a while.then I would suggest talking to your doctors.about more options.
Actually you dont need to wait a year to be put on clomid, but maybe you do if you are a normal gal. However its highly used for women who have PCOS. It does like what SunWorshiper_26 said maturing the egg to be released and what not. Its an affective little pill. There are great successes with it but also has a % of causing miscarriages.
Clomid is a prescription medication used to help those who have difficulty ttc. If you are under 35 years of age you need to be ttc for a year with no success before this medication will be given to you because there are risks that come with it. Clomid helps your body mature eggs so that the body can release them which aids in getting pregnant. Usually clomid is the first thing that drs try when couples are having trouble getting pregnant.
I've never used it, but from what I've gathered, it's a sort of pill that aids fertility and conception. And it's pretty good too, from the positive responses. I don't think u can get it over the counter, it has to be recommended by your dr. That's all I know, I could be wrong.
