I got an epidural with both and plan to with this one. It made it where I could actually enjoy the birth and not be screaming in pain. I think its pointless to be in pain if you don't have to be. I had no side effects and my kids were fine. I was up and taking a shower in 2-3 hours. Was wonderful. Had no problems pushing and it was a very enjoyable experience. I highly suggest getting one.
Jus had my bby Monday an I went natural An this is my second bby goin natural I think natural is way better yu feel 100% normal after birth like tu ready tu pack ya bby up an go home I always tell ppl I am 4'11 97 pounds if I can't go natural yu can do it
I went natural with my first son at age 16- I'm due in nov. With my little girl & I'm going natural again. I'm personally scared of needles, & I've heard some epidural experiences didn't go right, for some it doesn't even work, some girls it only numbs one side, some are so numb they can't even push- or feel the urge to push which I think makes labor go 2 X's slower. Going naturally- hurts, but giving birth hurts period there's no way around it. I just loved feeling the pain knowing my son was coming, & when he was out i wasn't drowsy off meds & the only thing that hurt after that was the healing process. I would say TRY to plan of having your baby natural & if u just can't bare any more pain then ask for the epidural. ^like she said- it's very much a mind over matter thing, I had my mind made up & went through with it. Good luck (;
I gave birth naturally. I'm not anti epidural but I would urge you to do some research and decide what's best for you. Also, learn coping mechanisms even if you plan on an epidural. Sometimes you have to wait for the anesthetist, sometimes your labor goes too quickly, etc. It's a personal choice.
Of my mom's six grandkids (so far), half have been epidural babies, the bigger half (heavier at birth) have not. Learn about normal labor. Learn about birth. Move a lot and breathe. And ultimately, make the decision that feels right for you and your baby.
If you choose to go without meds, practice consciously relaxing your whole body. Tensing any muscles during a contraction causes extra pain because your basically fighting your uterus. If you relax and let your uterus do it's thing it will be a lot less painful. Worked for me twice so far. All the nurses thought I was sleeping, because I relaxed my facial muscles as well.
Oh and there was a portion of my lower left shin that still felt numb for about 2 months but it did not hinder anything i had to do. It just felt funny.
I got the epidural. But i got it after 10 hours of painful labor and. Trying not to cry for about the last 5 hours failing at the attempt to not cry!
i got the epidural with my first and the experince was horrible i couldnt push cause i was to numb and they had to suck her out , and two weekd later i continued to be numb & the pain from the shot will stay in your back its been 3 yrs and the pain still there . i didnt get it with my second , and my labor was two hours my first was 23 hours and im not plannin on getting it with my 3rd , the pain isnt that bad , i handled it . it just feels like a pinch thats all .
I did an all natural home birth. I truly believe a lot of it is mind over matter. Just keep thinking the sensations don't last forever and many women have done it before you and you can too! I must say afterward I felt really empowerd and close with my little one
My own experience, I think you do what's best for you. You know your body and you shouldn't let other people have an influence in your decision.
