i mean for £20 u cant go wrong, dont worry bout the mobile fone thing hun. I meant that depending on what u read on the net (and not to take everything as truth) some people still believe that mobiles on their own are dangerous just remember all the stuff when they first came out telling us they would fry our brains lol but the way i feel is i wouldnt risk putting a mobile to a babies ear just incase there is some truth to it i also wouldnt hold my mobile to my tummy. BUT i also sleep with my mobile in my bed under my pillow (my brain is already frazzled lol)

It does say on the instructions to the doppler that not to use mobile phones too close to it but that is because of the interference reasons.

If you are giving the doppler back to your friend look on amazon.co.uk they are still on there for £20 x

The angel doppler i am usuing works good thank you everyone, just takes a bit of time getting used to it u have to play about an hour are over a few days then u soon will know the difference and become familiar with usuing the doppler i don't try for an hour though i pick it up very quick now compared to when i first started usuing it i would not find it  long enough to time i was finding crackling galloping which aint the sound i time now but once i find it i know it is it lol so i would personally now say it can take a few days to find just have to keep coming back to it then it gets a lot easier once u recognise it , i went on YouTube and listened it someone on theirs was helpful same sound as mine and same doppler lol

They should not sell them if there dangerous lol what are people debating about? I thought i was paranoid to much with my mobile see when i use it my mobile will get a text message and i will hear it on the doppler lol what have they said about mobiles and dopplers lol i will just have mine on my bed, . Yes the doppler has become rather very addicting but im restricting myself now lol my mum was actually supposed to take it back to her work last night but forgot haha i lent mine off an old school friend she also used it a lot lol i can recognise the hb now the noises i hear can change i can hear crackling at times like a horse gallop for a spitting second i now know that aint the hb unless it is for a second but i can keep the noise long enough to time now i know i am close when i hear like wind blowing the a swoosh sound then a whoosh sound lol then two sounds sound like its pulsing but i don't time them not fast enough its like pulsing whoosing and swooshing noises then i get the hb shortly afterwards, it can cause panic thought which is not good and stressful, is the hb always the same number for you?

I bought a doppler from ebay and its from the website www.echostore.com and mine is a sonoline fetal doppler and its has always worked perfectly and i started using it at like 13 weeks it shows u digitally the heartbeat so you can tell where your heartbeat is (mines in the 80's) and the baby like to jump around a move away from me but is anywhere from 133-156 lol and the swooshing noise i was told and i think the book says its the placenta but it works great so maybe try a differnt doppler

ive always been very paranoid about having my mobile near my bump for exactly that reason you hear so many stories and dont know if theres actually any hard proof but i always keep my mobile out of my pockets just in case. And if you google the doppler some say not to use it too much becuase of the radio waves (or what ever it is) but its sort of a 50/50 debate and like i say no hard proof but again its a personal choice and i dont think they would sell them to pregnant women if they are dangerous but i did start restricting the amount of time i used mine when i started reading about it. Glad you found the HB you will be totally hooked now lol x

i always sit up to use mine but i supose everyones different and your baby may well lay differently to mine. As for the loud noises the screeching tends to happen when you move the doppler even the smallest movement will make it do that you will know when the baby kicks it cause it will sound like a thud but the baby moving around can make a similar sound you will also hear like a swishing sound. The sound of the hiccups is very rythmic but i notice that sound more now that im furthur along not sure weather they would be that noticable to you yet. You really do have to stick with it, its a really good way of learning which each sound and movement is. as with the counting of the HB my mid wife does it for 10 secs but i just use my stopwatch on my fone and do the full minute. I can defo hear my own HB down there and found that first which is mego slow compared to the babys HB but at least that way you know the difference when you hear the babys. I take it you not found it yet?

Thank you for your advice I've asked a couple people on Facebook that's used Same doppler, i been getting loud interference like screeching static noise only happens mainly on my left side, i been getting something but then goes i will try tomorrow led flat down pint of water lots of gel and listen carefully, will listen to my own hb on my chest so i know the difference, have u ever picked up ur on hb in your stomach ? So is it kicking and hicks ups when i hear the loud wow noise that i have to turn the volume down on, I've read a few opinions on peoples experiences etc

i forgot to say also when u use it and your moving it around, do it very slowly and a bit at a time like i said before i always find mine on the lower left hand side about 2 inches away from my belly button but around the pubic bone (obviously as the weeks progress you move it further up your belly) because you really need to be taking notice of every sound but when you hit the right spot youll be sorted x

when i was in my first and second trimester i used it every day more than once, but i had to really limit myself as i was getting a paranoid especially if i couldnt find HB as quickly some days and yes my midwife wasnt overly keen on me always checking things i supose thats their job and not ours lol. Did you manage to hear the HB in the end? i found my babys sounds like a horse galloping along a bit slower now im closer to the end but still amazes me every time i hear it! Dont worry too much if you still cant get a clear sound yet, the more you use it the more you get to recognise the different sounds, youll soon know a kick from a roll to hiccups. Just try not to get obsessed like i did lol i now use it very little but i can see and feel most things so i know my baby is ok. They are not the easiest doppler to use they make them an awquard shape and the interference can be soooooo loud sometimes (putting it thru your computer speakers helps a bit) but they are brill for the price mine was only £20 i think, well got my moneys worth!

I have the angel sounds doppler and it can be tricky at first. I strated using mine about 12 weeks and it took me a couple of days to get it but when you do, you find it easier and easier each time. Right.... exactly as said above you need plenty of gel and as the doppler is a funny shape you need to sort of put it just above your pupic bone and sort of angle the mic downwards, you need to use a resonable amount of pressure too. Dont worry about the screeching sounds it does that whenever you move it around on your skin. The wooshy wooshy sound i was told is liquid around your baby (someone else sugested it could be the placenta) mine makes the sound very close to where i find the heart beat and i always find my babys heart beat on the left. And just remember at 14 weeks its VERY LOW DOWN almost tucked in your pubic bone. Stick with it tho as soon as you distinguish the HB the first time you will never mistake it for anything else. Let me know if you have any questions i have been using mine religously throughout and now 34 weeks and love it to bits just be warned tho the bigger the baby gets and the harder it kicks KEEP THE VOLUME DOWN it can deafen you lol very cute tho but makes me jump out of my skin every time. Hope this helps Emma x

Try going as low as you can, close to your pelvic bone, Use lots of gel. I have one I bought off of ebay, I am not sure of the name of it now but I heard hb after searching forever at about 11-12 weeks. It was super low in the abdomen, it'll sound like a horse gallop..
