My boyfriend left to basic the other day im so sad I miss him so much. Soon my parents and his parents will start shopping for the baby and he told me how sad he feels cause he will  miss it all and most of my pregnancy. Does anyone know of away I could keep him in the loop.

If he's in basic he does get a phone call once a week, you can update him then. Also you can send letters once he gives you his address. My husbands in the Air Force and went through it, basic isn't that bad. It's only 8 and a half weeks. Wait till he goes on deployment and he's gone for 6 months to a year at a time!

Mail! Send him lots of pictures if you are allowed, and ultrasound images.

Write him journals everyday tell him what you did how you felt everything my husband is in the army and has a job that calls him out of town a lot so I know the feeling this is our first child and he hates missing out! My best friends husband is in the Marines and she did the journal and he read them when he got home and still reads them he loved it

My husband was deployed 6 months with my first. Our son was 8 weeks old before he saw him. He left for a 8 month deployment when our son was 9 months old. basic the only way you are really going to be able to communicate is thru mail and the occasional phone call. Once he makes it into schooling he will have much more freedom to call/skypr etc. Good luck!

It is hard when they are away I also have a 3year old so he misses out on everything she does aswell. But when he does get to phone and I hear her telling him everything it is just the cutest thing in the world x

My partner works offshore and is away for 6weeks comes home for a couple and back again I keep in contact by email and sometimes he gets to phone but that's very rarely
