Man I'm measuring 48cm at 38 weeks and my doctor is letting me go full term. If she's to big then she's to big lol they haven't done a weight estimate or length but my doctor says she will be big lol

I'm studying ultrasound and they can't accurately determine weight or length of a baby in third trimester.

I was induced with my son at 38 weeks because he was estimated to be around 10lbs and when he was born he was only 7lbs 8oz so they can always be off.

I'm 35+5 and am having an ultrasound on the 25th to determine the baby's size. The doctor says I have a really small pelvis and will most likely need a c-section if it is big. Not exactly the same situation as you, but similar. My doctor said usually the ultrasound is pretty accurate, but could possibly be off up to 20%.

I was induced @ 39 weeks because of my school schedule, not because of a big baby, but it all went smoothly. If your Doctor recommends it then there shouldn't be any serious issues. I would get a second opinion if you're not comfortable with inducing. I know of many mothers who've had 10lb babies vaginally; however there are possible complications to having too large a baby. One big complication is over stretching your uterus, this could cause you to hemmorhage after giving birth. Hope everything goes well. Good luck to you and your baby.
