I didn't have epidural and had a 36 hour labour!
My pain relief was gas and air and a pethidine shot (which in my experience, the pethidine did nothing but leave a tender sruise on my thigh!)
I coped alright I think, obviously whinget and in pain, but I managed, and I'm keen to do it again with the same pain relief methods :)

No epidural for both pregnancies. I was 15 the first time and my husband was terrified I'd die from it. The second time, I gave birth within minutes of entering the hospital so there was no need, it was a 20 minute labor. I'm glad I didn't go with it and I'm planning on going all natural with my third.

I had a med-free birth (of a 9lb baby, at that) by choice, I decided that I could handle it just fine since women have been doing it since the dawn of humanity - if they could do it, if my mama could do it, then so could I. It was an amazing experience, I've never felt so strong, so powerful, so proud. And I can't wait to do it again.
I had no tearing, not even a skid mark, because we didn't try to rush my labor with pitocin and didn't try to numb me to the point that I couldn't feel when to stop pushing. And because I didn't have IV catheters sticking out of me I could get up and move and position my body properly to allow gravity to help bring my baby down - I delivered on hands and knees, it worked very well!

My sister didnt have an epidural. She said it hurt worse before she started pushing. she told me that after that she didnt remember being in a lot of pain  and she ripped "hole to.hole" and didn't even notice. She just remembered being very exhausted.

With my first I got the epidural!!! I would never go without again.. I don't even remember it being that bad I dad have to get it a couple times because I couldn't sit up straight. My fault but this time go around I'm getting it again! I definitely reccomend it if your scared. My pelvis didn't really move enough for my son to come out but the doctors ending up massaging the baby so that he would come through. 2 big pushes and he was out!

I was in labor 13 hours with out epidural everything going slow or at least that is how it seemed. Then I finally got my epidural at 5 cm and 1 hour later I was 10 cm and pushing... everyone is different. But in my case the epidural didn't slow it down. This time around I am deffinetly getting one again. It was like night and day... and after I got it I was able to really enjoy being in labor awaiting my baby!

I went natural with my first because my mom scared the $hitzzz out of me by saying that the needle can hit a nerve and paralyze you. And after I had to share a room with another lady who got the epidural and she cried the entire stay because air ended up going into her back or something causing bad headaches. But my labor didn't hurt and I hope I can do it natural again this time.

Getting the epidural can cause longer labor, back labor, and many other problems. You also can't get up and walk around to help ease the discomfort or help time pass. I am not getting the epidural and I'm sure I'll be fine. My mom got the epidural with her 2nd child and it only made things worse. Lots to think about.

Every one is different but with my first I arrived at the hospital too late to be able to get epidural plus I had wanted to.experience birth without it and let me tell you it was so painful I could of just died. And my labor was very quick luckily for me but since then I will never have another child natural unless I have no choice. I had my second with epidural and I loved it and I'm due in 2 weeks with number 3 and I.plan on getting it again:)

I didnt have it because i didnt have time too. And i wanted to try without it. I found it was okay, the pain wasnt as bad as i expected. I also was only at the hospital 2-3 hours before my daughter was born.

My mama didn't get ot with my baby sister. She said it hurt like hell...!!! She said never again. Lol she told me to get it. The reason she didn't get it is bc my mama had my sister in the waitin room. They didn't know she was so far dilated
