babies umbilical cored, please help!
Im getting so nervous and scared for my sons umbilical cord. I think its infected, I seen his doc today and he told me to kinda lift it up and clean the outline of it with a Q-Tip. Well I was attempting that right now and I seen a bunch of green fluids, it honestly scared me so I didn't continue cleaning it. Sometimes it will leave a little wet mark on his shirts too, idk if its blood or what but im just so scared for him. He's only a week but im paranoid.!!
My daughters cord never had green stuff around it...I'll call the doctor just to make sure.
The green stuff can be normal and the wet mark on his shirts. Just watch out for a fever and redness cause those would indicate an infection, it can take a couple weeks for it to fall off. My aunt just had a baby like 6 months ago and her daughter's did the same thing.
