Ive looked up this subject alot because i LOVE seafood and fortunately shrimp and crab legs have the lowest mercury. Same with salmon and tilapia, pretty much all my favorite fish im still allowed to eat. Stuff like tuna and swordfish and shark are a nono. Look it up on good seafood you can eat while pregnant. It will show you the types with less mercury. Obviously sushi is a nogo (luckily i hate raw fish) so youre fine

Idk because I'm not a doctor but I have had no problems eating shrimp or other properly cooked sea food. Always check with your doctor but try not to stress.

I think they dont want you to eat fresh water fish. ones that carry more mercury than salt water
