i put my base in around 35 weeks with both my boys but left the carseat its self inside until after i had my babys. i had my husband get it when i was in the hospital. but i also lived right down the street from the hospital so it was no big deal.
I've had mine in for a few days but I just had it specter today. I'm so glad I did cause even with the instructions we were SO wrong lol google car seat installation with the name of your city/area and something should come up. None of the fire stations or police stations will do them here anymore so the children's hospital holds events every couple of weeks to check it out for free.
If I take it by the fire station would they check to make sure that its placed correctly? I heard some fire stations can do that. The babies and mine bags are packed and I'm registered at the hospital. So the car seat was the last thing.
We got our seats from the in laws for Christmas, so we installed ours Christmas day (I was almost 35 weeks). If we would have bought them ourselves, I would've put them in much sooner.
37 weeks is very reasonable! I think I put mine in at 36 and thank goodness cuz my princess was born at 37!
I just put mine in, I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow. I just finished packing the hospital as well. My co workers say its a good time but my sister said it's a little early. But better over prepared than not.
Yea we are putting it in the car that we are planning on using to get to the hospital and back. Its just I want to be prepared since my husband arrived early and we think that so will our son. I'm not planning on driving to or from unless I'm driving somewhere by myself and I go into labor lol.
37 weeks is a perfectly reasonable time to install the carseat. I assume you're installing the seat in the vehicle that will be used to take you to the hospital and home again (keeping in mind that in no way should you be driving yourself in either direction). It's generally suggested that just in case of an accident the seat shouldn't be installed too early so that you wouldn't have to replace an unused seat if something happened - but you're close enough that it's a good idea to have it ready to go!
