My baby's father refuses to help me now that I'm pregnant, but before I was pregnant he helped out a ton. I can't work as much because I am high risk and I also get sick a lot, but he says he isn't obligated to help me while I am pregnant. I know unfortunately by law here in South Carolina that that's true, but how can I get him to help me? I can't pay my bills and by everything that I need for the baby all on my own. I didn't lay down and have sex with myself, so I don't think I should be the only one paying for doctors and everything. Help :/

Go to social services get on planned parenting get food stamps and see if you can try to get work first if they have that there. I know ppl hating using the system but the way I look at it is I don't mind paying my taxes for ppl who need it and won't abuse it. I hope things work out please,keep me informed.

Me too! He's acting like I got myself pregnant on my own or something. He's given me $20 in the last 2 months, and that was to buy the pregnancy tests.

Sounds like mine a lil....he won't even claim or acknowledge the baby or that I'm pregnant, but trying everything in his power to get back with me. Ugh loser!!

We split when I found out I was pregnant. He didn't want the baby and we just started fighting a lot but he says that he'll only help me if I move back in with him. And my parents won't help, usually if I have extra money I have to help them.

Are you two together?? I know in Australia they aren't obligated to pay until the baby is born either. I don't think you can force him to help you. Maybe your parents can help you out a bit?
