bleeding

Hi all.  I just found out I was pregnant last Thursday.  They said it was extremely early and maybe only 2 or 3 days pregnant.  By their wheel calculation (from the date of my last period) I am 5 weeks pregnant today.  I started bleeding on Saturday night...very light red and similar to a light period and it has continued through this a.m. but isn't enough to soak a pad.  I had some minimal cramping originally and that has gone.  There have been some clots it looks like.  I did call the OB on call and she was very kind and explained it could be one of 3 things.  Ectopic pregnancy (but she said severe pain would accompany this and I don't have any), implantation bleeding or miscarriage.  I go for HcG levels today and although I know I probably miscarried in the back of my head I want to believe I haven't.  Has anybody else experienced this and if so, what was the result?  This is my second pregnancy and I didn't experience any of this with my first.  I thought I was handling the fact that I could have miscarried pretty well but today I am a wreck.  Any advice?  Thanks!

Hi!
I hope you have had your HCG by now and that it was good.  Basically, your OB told you all the correct information.  The determination will be made by the values of the HCG.  Usually we check one value and then repeat it in two days.  A healthy developing pregnancy will have a value that is doubling ( approx.) every 48 hours.
Once the value is in the range of 2000 we can usually see the pregnancy on transvaginal ultrasound and tell you exactly where it is and how it is developing.
Hope this helps!
Good luck!

Hey Girl, I'm sorry what happened, but you know somethings arent ment to be, maybe later on you'll get something better, idk maybe twins, when i mc i was upset, and angry because one of my friends had just told me, that she had a friend who was doing drugs to get rid of her baby, and was too late for an abortion, i was angry because how come i couldnt keep my baby and i was healthy, well any ways, later that year i met my husband, when he came home from r&r and talked about 2 wks, asked me to be his gf the next week, and the week after we got married, its funny how things work out in life, i see it, as better, though i will always remember my angel in heaven, a little piece of me that looks down on, its been 2 yrs since my mc, and that year that i did mc, i didnt have sex for 6 months because i was scared that if i got pregnant the same thing would happen, and when i got married i wanted a kid, but i guess a week of my husband and i having intercourse wasnt enough, he went back to iraq 3 days later when we got married, i just got off bc, and now where doing things right and trying, idk if i just helped but be patient being a mother you'll have time for, just breathe and take it easy, dont stress out ;)

hey dear u need to do ur hcg test daily and just get a vaccine to stop ur bleeding first, as cramping is a sign of m/c. after vaccination go for an ultra sound every 4-5 days and hcg test every day or every alternate day. same was my case before 2mnths and then i miscarried so i suggest u through my experience that not to do AS I DID SO ITS BETTER TO get the vaccination to stop bleeding so u can get enough time to save ur baby. Plz its a request.
plz rep me whats next. Keep updating.
May god bless u and ur LITTLE ANGEL

all i can say is i agree with what slntfirlm said, but if your cramping gets worse then yes you might be having a m/c but you should be extra cautious, i have only gotten pregnant once, and resulting of a m/c i was about to be 8wks when it happened 2 yrs ago, i spotted a month b4 that happened, especially when i had intercourse, so i stopped then i stressed so much about it, that i ended up loosing my baby..

alot of times women can spot during early pregnancy, i would only be concerned if it didnt let up after a day.
