full term

Three years ago 37 weeks meant you were full term. Now 39 weeks means you're full term. O.o Big change. . . Im 35 weeks as of today. I want my baby to be born between Nov.1 to Nov.8 I dont want an Oct baby. Oct. is such a busy birthday month in our family but theres no one in Nov. :) I can wait it out just be full term.

It only matters for inductions. If you go into labor at 37 weeks they won't tty to stop you, but they won't induce you before 39. Evidence shows that babies induced before 39 weeks had a significantly higher risk of complications, that's why they changed it.

Everyone needs to read twolittlemurphys comment. This is the last year they will be able to say 37 weeks but it has already been switched to 39 weeks.

37 weeks here in Michigan too. The only thing about the 39 week marker is that your doctor can induce you then...

I live in Ohio and they still consider 37 weeks full term. My due date is November 4th and I'm praying I have an October baby! My birthday is October 29th and I'm hoping I go before then!!

It changed to 39wks january 2014, for the ladies saying their drs still tell them its 37wks thats bc they are given leniency. A lot of women pregnant during the change would have a hissy, so the drs have this yr before they face board penalties and are forced to completely change over.
