I saw this story on something I was watching about parents of a 9 month old baby girl. The dad was driving her to daycare and stopped at a gas station then got back in the car and forgot his daughter was in the car .... A few hours later he met his wife for lunch and it clicked that he forgot about there baby in the car. They ran out to the car and she was dead....  How can this happen!? It scares me to death I know moms have mother instincts but what about the dads... It just broke my heart hearing that :(

Yeah. I always said gosh how could you forget your baby but then I think well I don't want to be too quick to judge because I know how sleep depravation is and stuff like that makes a person all messed up. But after the purse routine it's just second nature to me now and I will half-**** my rear view mirror so I can watch my daughter in the back seat lol. I guess I'm always subconsciously checking on them

Yeah but lots of moms forget their babies in cars too. Mothering isn't an instinct it's a choice. Some women choose to be good mothers some don't. Some men choose to be good fathers. Like after our first baby I would put my purse in the back seat so that I always had to look back there, and the husband would throw his wallet back there whn he was driving. I was a young mom and was terrified of forgetting her. So I made a system. Now i always check my back seat even if my kids arent riding with me, and I take them with me inside the gas stations or if I use a card I will stand outside and play with them thru the window.

ive heard of stories also when theyre showering the baby and they forget and they drown
theres so many stories out there.. its insane but it happens

Unfortunately this happens more than you'd think :( it's so sad. I can't imagine how heartbreaking it would be or how guilty he feels :(

No cause I guess it was on accident idk how tho... She was sleeping so she was silent so he just forgot about her

Did he go to jail? That doesn't make sense that he would "forget" the baby, was silent the whole time, and that the baby died? But how? Suspicious

Ya that's the scary thing is if you have a lot going on you might just forget or something... I think the stuff animal thing is a good idea! Or there's a car seat alarm that hooks to your key chain that I thought was a good idea

That's horrible! But I know we ain't all perfect. One time I forgot to strap my son in the car seat when he was a month old. Thank god I remembered n corrected myself only 20 ft down the road. I've never forgotten my child was actually with me though. I can't imagine wat he feels like. It wouldn't b a bad idea for parents to place a stuffed animal in the windshield when the child is in the car n then remove it or give it to child when they r out. That way the stuffed animal is like a reminder.
