breast milk

When did you ladies start lactating? And if you start early before the baby is here should you pump? Or no?

I started leaking at 16 weeks. Some women leak colostrum before baby comes and some don't. As for pumping, you should never pump before baby is born. Pumping can cause preterm labor and can have an affect on supply after baby comes because whatever little bit you can pump out, your body sends a message that that's all you need so once baby is born your body will have a tough time keeping up with the sudden increased demand.

I would not recommend pumping before your milk supply comes after the baby is born it could cause you to go into preterm labor. I'm having my second and after my first I never stopped lactating even when I stopped breastfeeding. I still would leak collosum  (don't know if that is spelled right) especially when he would cry. If it bothers you I would get nipple pads
