breastfeeding is out for me!!!!!

Well went to talk to the lactition last wed. about getting a breast pump! In the beginning of this pregnancy I got a bad infection in my left breast! My ob put me on antibiotic for it but it still has not went fully away! I do not want my son getting bad milk from me so I was gonna pump out on the left till the infection was fully gone! When I was talking to the lactition about it she literally called me stupid for not wanting to feed my baby bad milk! I got so mad that I desided I just wasn't gonna risk it! I hate when people tall to me like I'm a retard when I have been a nurse for 15 years! Has anyone else had this problem?

Well if thats what you feel is best you should always do it! Follow your gut feeling! You don't need the approval of the lactition or anyone for that matter. It's your body and your child. Do what you feel is right!

That's what I want to do but I can not get the lactition to understand! Its just so frustrating that I can't get people to listen!

Yeah, I'd pump and dump from the left until the infection is gone. :(

At first my ob did think it was mastitus but after the antibiotic didn't take care of it fully he is worried it is an infection in my milk due to it had went down till I started filling up! With both my pregnancies I have produced early like 3-4 months! And it is just getting worse! That's why he didn't want me to feed out of my left! He said he wanted me to pump it till all the infection was gone! The leaking is almost a green color!

What kind of infection do you have :/ I don't know much about breast infections other than infectious mastitis which I suffered not long after giving birth to my baby boy. I was told the milk was 100% safe to feed to my child since the acid in his digestive system would kill any germs and bacteria and although painful it is THE best way to get rid of the blockages and infection rather than pumping. If you're still not sure and don't feel it is the right thing for you to do then don't let anyone make you feel stupid! That Dr was inappropriate. If you're talking about another kind of infection then my bad and I hope you sort everything out :)

Don't let her get to you.  I would go with your plan and pump from the left and feed from the right.   It is better to give some bm rather than none at all.   I'm sorry some people are so rude and say things like that, but don't make baby suffer
